The absolute worst
Certified Nurses Aid (Current Employee), WaterlooFebruary 1, 2015
Pros: the residents are great as well as the other aides
Cons: short staffed, horrible management, no chance for advancement and horrible pay
A typical evening shift is 2 or 3 aides for 40 residents. An assignment is anywhere between 13-20 residents each and a complete nightmare. the management is decent enough although they do not seem to care about their employees. The supervisors are all rude and ill-tempered. The nurses do not work with the aides as a team. The other aides are great to work with, but overall a terrible and stressful environment. When its time for yearly meetings to discuss a raise, good luck (19 cents per year increase at most). Management and supervisors are all very unappreciative.

Human Resource Representative (Former Employee), Geneva, NYJanuary 29, 2014
Strong corporate culture and excellent benefit program. Management is somewhat resistant to change. Recent funding issues led to several positions being eliminated.

Lousy Management Who Don't Listen to the Staff
C.N.A. (Current Employee), Unit 1January 1, 2014
Pros: residents are mostly all wonderful. they will brighten your day with a thoughtful gesture.
Cons: little to no advancement opportunities unles it is what the organization needs, no one to listen to your problems because they are short-staffed/ill-tempered.
If you are looking for a place to get the feeling of not being appreciated and possibly stabbed in the back, then you have found your dream job.The facility has poor management as well as an HR department that doesn't see the writing on the wall. If you are an employee who is being bullied by your manager, you will have no resources to turn to. It becomes a lonely environment, so have thick skin! There is one administrator who has worked there so long that they allow her to mistreat and bully the weaker staff. They need to fire her or send her to management training.

Striving for costumer satisfaction and maintaining state and facility standards of care.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee), Penn Yan, NYDecember 3, 2013
Pros: full-filling needs, seeing smiles, listening to story's of life before coming to us, giving passionate care, being respectful to each resident, maintaining respect or residents wishes, gaining and keeping confidence of family members.
Cons: not always having staffing needed, but able to make the day go smooth by working harder and as a cohesive team.
Using individual skills and teamwork to ensure each and every resident receives proper care and attention to detail as far as individual care plans and individual needs. Staff generally work well together under stressful situations as far as time management, communication, and daily behaviors. Putting a smile on residents and families faces knowing that the resident is being cared for and needs are met in timely and caring manner.

Management not supportive
Nurse (Former Employee), Geneva,N.Y.August 13, 2013
Pros: work monday thru friday.no late nights.
Cons: miserable nurses that dictate how your day is going to be.
Play favorites with staff. If you get sick or your out for surgery they will replace you. No one to go to if you are having problems.Human resources not there for employees. The surgery center would have been a nice place to work if the certain nurses didn't run the place. Managers afraid to speak up,no supervision can't believe what happens behind closed doors.

Productive and Efficient at any tasks at hand
CNA (Former Employee), Waterloo, NYApril 22, 2013
Pros: overtime always available
Cons: being in an office by myself most of the day
I am usually at a desk inputting information and typing insurance policies. I get along with my co-workers and the hardest part of the job is the deadlines on some policies. The most enjoyable part of my job is the satisfaction of our clients with a job well done.
