Assistant Manager (Current Employee) – North Charleston, SC – April 17, 2017
finish line is a great company i was a manager once but once i moved there weren't an positions available . they were not all that organized . the job was good but it depends on the management and who you work with.
i enjoyed working there for the short period of time in me being there. Also my coworkers and managers were very polite and friendly. My responsibility was to oversee the stockroom as well as the shipments that came in on a daily basis.
I would recommend to a friend, I really like the company but i feel as if i am ready to move on. i still keep the job as a part time job, i was offered a management position but the pay rate was not as high as i would like.
Good part time job for a high schooler in the summer
SALES ASSOCIATE (Current Employee) – Okemos, MI – April 10, 2017
I would have loved this in high school! But as a college student in their 4th year, it is not very good. Inconsistent hours, low pay, no raises or promotions and the staff is a mess. No one wants to come to work including the store manager.
Discount on anything is 30% and that includes sale items.
Favorite place I have worked at. I especially liked that we got aid commission. It makes you work harder, Knowing you get paid off your work ethic. I love working to get paid off how much you deserve it.
ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER (Former Employee) – New Jersey – April 6, 2017
I was hired at 12.50 with management experience when later I found out that that two employees in the same position as me where making 15+ an hour and they where not working half as hard as I was. This was do to the fact that assistant managers no longer made commission so they where given an hourly rate based on their sales performance. So unless you where grandfathered in your pay is going to suck as a manager and you will have a sales quota with no commission. No thank you
Lead Associate (Former Employee) – Holyoke, MA – April 5, 2017
The experience I received as a teenager at Finnish Line will forever stay with me. I loved going to work everyday meeting people. Learning how to provide good customer service continues to be my corner stone as to who I have become.
Assistant Manager (Former Employee) – Missouri – April 5, 2017
I was a manager at this company before and everyone at my location loved working at finishline. I then was transferred to 3 other stores at different periods of time where the managers that were there didn't do there assigned jobs and tasks, didn't put sales goals or train on a frequent basis, and acted very immature and unprofessional.
Long story short, finishline locations that had managers like me that actually do their jobs and treat associates right would be great locations to work at, however locations that have managers like describes above make the job a living nightmare.
Also just as an FYI, Corporate is a complete joke and does not care about their employees that lie under the District Manager Position.
Distribution center is absolutely terrible. Never receive new products or products that are hot in the area. Always seems like any product the customer wants just so conveniently happens to never be in stock (our location had NO pairs of brooks for men and NO asics for women) whereas almost every other store in our district had them.
Overall the company is terrible, but if there are good managers that don't cuss at you every 10 minutes and actually do their jobs, the job could be "OK."
30% discount on everything
Management, corporate, low staff, high turnover, low stock on everything, no new product, even Brooks reps are embarrassed of most finishline locations stock, HR/Payroll is a joke. Pretty much everything is bad
