Brothers and fire fighters Robin and Chris Sorensen started Firehouse Subs in 1994 after gaining popularity as firehouse cooks.

In 2011, Firehouse Restaurant Group announced it would expand in Texas. Plans call for 80 Firehouse Subs locations to be developed in the Dallas metro area, where the company already operates about 20 restaurants. The chain also has a large concentration of locations in Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Firehouse Restaurant Group expects to grow exponentially during the next 10 years, with hopes to expand to 2,000 Firehouse Subs units by 2020. – less
