First Look Appraisals is an appraisal management company (“AMC”) located in the SONO area near Halsted, North Avenue and Clybourn Avenue in Chicago that provides thorough appraisals from independent, highly qualified, and experienced appraisers. First Look Appraisals acts promptly and adheres to the highest standards for compliance and service throughout the appraisal process, including the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (“USPAP”) guidelines.
The Quality Control Specialist (QCS) and Customer Service Representative (CSR) positions will work at First Look Appraisals offices in Chicago, Illinois. We are seeking candidates that are self-motivated and disciplined. The primary responsibility of this position is to update lenders on the status of their appraisal orders, assign new orders, follow the orders through to completion, and provide timely communication via phone and computers to all concerned parties, review residential appraisals to ensure compliance with secondary market investors, internal bank policies, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. We are seeking candidates that are responsible, self-motivated and disciplined to be on-time every day and work with a commitment to professionalism.
They will be trained to maintain an understanding of appraisal underwriting guidelines to assess whether residential appraisals comply with regulatory guidelines and bank policy, meet or exceed established appraisal turn time and service level agreements. Ensure work is completed within client's timeframes. Communicate order status and delays to clients and appraisal order follow-up and tracking. Communicate with lender on appraisal acceptance.
Review all incoming appraisals to ensure that reports are completed in an accurate and high quality manner and confirm compliance and quality. Ensure all reports meet USPAP, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, lender, and other regulatory requirements.
Maintain knowledge of appraisal underwriting guidelines to assess whether residential appraisals comply with regulatory guidelines and bank policy.
Coordinate with appraisers for any necessary corrections, changes, or additions to appraisal reports.
Recent graduates with at least a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year customer service experience, residential appraisal review, banking, or underwriting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows, as well as ability to learn internal valuation tools/applications.
