Human Resources M (Former Employee), New Braunfels, TX – December 6, 2012
Pros: generally five day work week m-f
As a one person HR department with numerous locations most daily contact was via e-mail or phone with managers and employees. Enjoyed the opportunity to work with Senior management in aiding with staffing and training issues.

Fun and enjoyable place to work
Transaction Specialist (Former Employee), Canisteo, NY – November 7, 2012
Greet customers, processed customers transactions completely and accurately, answered phones, balanced end of day paperwork with data processors, counted and verified money in my teller drawer, answered phones and provided customer service. Management and co-workers there were a great bunch of people and great to work for. The most enjoyable part of – more... the job was being able to go to work and seeing and waiting on the customers and being able to talk with them – less

Great Benefits, but poor working environment
Teller (Former Employee), Irvington, KY – October 24, 2012
Pros: good pay and good hours
Cons: management terrible
The benefits were great, but management was horrible. I was laid off with no explanation. Found out later they wanted to hire someone else and since I was on the bottom of the totem pole I was let go. I was also paid my medical insurance for 6 months. ( I never heard of doing this before) Makes me wonder if they were afraid of a law suit.

Management is good and interesting people to work with. Felt comfortable around employees. However; full time job and full time school was a struggle.

Loved working at the Terrell branch
Teller (Former Employee), Mesquite, TX – July 9, 2012
Pros: great co workers, awesome customers, close to home
Cons: insurance could be better; my branch closed down and we all got laid off
A typical day at work included opening and/or closing bank, taking care of my customers banking needs. What I learned was that no job last forever, and it is. The management was fine until we got a new CEO, and were lied to when we all asked if we were going to have to close branches, and if we would still have jobs. The hardest part of the job was – more... working March to June knowing our happy little family (co workers and our customers) at our Terrell branch would be broken up. Most enjoyable part of my job was working with great co workers, and having awesome customers. – less

First State Bank Review
Deskside Support Intern (Former Employee), Saint Clair Shores, MI – May 31, 2012
Pros: hands on experience, great management, and good work environment.
First State Bank was a great starting experience for me to see what working in IT is like in a real-world envirnment. In a typical day in the office I would answer any calls that would come to the help desk, work on projects such as upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7, upgrading each computer's BIOS, and making images of computers and then deploying – more... them. All of the above I have learned from working at First State Bank and much more. I learned to have great communication skills with customers and employees and how to do many other tasks including: updating print drivers, upgrading Microsoft Office, wiping hard drives, and putting operating systems on PC's. My co-workers were great and we worked very well together to get the important tasks done. The hardest part of the job would had to of been the projects put upon us with a deadline. The most enjoyable part of the job was just working together with the team and solving our banks problems no matter what obstacle got in our way. Overall, I had a great experience with First State Bank and I can't thank them enough for all the knowlege I have gained from my experience there. – less

Nice work environment but advancement opportunities were given to the young.
Teller Supervisor & Branch Opener/Closer (Former Employee), Athens, TX – May 26, 2012
Pros: discounted maintenance fees
Cons: short lunches
On a typical day, I would open the bank, open the cash vault, pull daily reports and begin the daily cash audit. When the lobby opens, I handled any customer or teller issues. When lobby closed, balanced drawer and closed cash vault. My people skills have improved the past seven years. I managed the schedules of seven other people. I had great co-workers. – more... We were like a family. The hardest part of the job was auditing all the other tellers. The most enjoyable part of the job was the people. – less

Teller (Former Employee), Eldorado, IL – March 21, 2012
This was a huge learning experience with me. I had never been around that kind of money in my life. It was amazing to see the amount of money businesses made in that area as well as the kinds of people you will meet. I also learned alot about the differnt kinds of banking their was not just savings and checking and loans.
