No. The upper management in Connecticut only cares if you are not on a list. the buses could be falling apart and breakdown every day but if you are under budget that’s fine. Sacrifice the children safety over saving three cents per mileage.

No they are not fair! Their management is terrible and they do play favorites and as for the drivers they could do much better.

I work here. No benefits they are getting read of them. They don't pay for experience. Yard needs to drain water better. People have lot of drama in break room. Supervisor good, dispatch jumpy. They don't train on what to do when fighting break out.

That question should be based on each location... some have ok managers and others not so much... unfortunately This will vary... we should all be on the same page and be working for the same value... ensuring kids get to where they need to be safely and on time...

Not fair at all. The most poorly managed business that I've ever worked for. You must carefully and privately keep a record of your time worked, because First Student is notorious for shaving hours (or minutes), in order to pay you less. You have to check every paystub via your spreadsheet. They've had numerous class action lawsuits against them for that and for failure to pay for the time you're walking to and from bus.
Favoritism and unprofessionalism abound.
Busses are not mechanically maintained very well.
Management receives quarterly bonus' for keeping overhead down - which explains everything above. Work elsewhere.

No. The culture is one of do as I say not as I do. Safety First? No, not at all when you have to drive a loaded 25,000 pound vehicle with CHILDREN and your bus is leaking fluids and your speedometer doesn't work and management tells you repairs aren't in the budget right now. Run. Go somewhere else. Try a school district, not this place.
