Walked off the job
Opens Rep (Former Employee) –  Warren, MIJune 21, 2017
Did not like working for this company. Constant chaos, reallocation of job duties/titles constantly; then repercussions for unclear job duties. Gave the perception they are a paperless company and hid paper and printers upon inspection.

What to say...
Subject Matter Expert (SME) (Former Employee) –  Warren, MIJune 13, 2017
Good place to work if you want to be stagnate or not be promoted due to favoritism, nepotism and bullying by management.

They take and take. For the love of the Gods, don't ever get sick - they will fire you for "occurrences", even if they are the ones who caused them.
Pros
Pay is decent, other staff is mostly pleasant
Cons
unrealistic expectations (mostly to make the manager look good), you get holidays off, but then they force you to work on weekends to make up for it, forced overtime.

The workplace was calming but busy. I have bettered my skills in customer service and communication. The culture was casual and welcoming. The job was easy to get into and complete in the time allotted.

This company is not organized and is constantly "restructuring." Lots of lay-offs. No raises or places to move up in the company. Bad communication within company.

Subject Metter Expert - Utilities (Former Employee) –  Warren, MIApril 28, 2017
Pricey health insurance (if you have a family be prepared to pay $500 a pay period, which will be most of your check since the only people who make an actual living wage are management), low pay, you have to plan illness in advance, not transparent, no raises, nepotism.

There have been a lot of layoffs recently, and it seems like they're getting rid of the people who have been there for the longest (thus making more money), so that they can bring new people in to do the same position at a much lower hourly rate.
Pros
Some paid holidays, Pto, works with schedule, benefits
Cons
You have to schedule sickness in advance in order to get an excused absence, as they don't accept doctor notes, no raises, nepotism, benefits are expensive, HR representives are uncompassionate and cold

Project Manager (Current Employee) –  Warren, MIFebruary 18, 2017
Need to be more proactive and share business strategy with at least management team. Family owned and operated.

Pay scale is low, training needs improvement, little employee motivation.

Limited advancement opportunities; management makes efforts to make worklife fun; great health benefits, but poor wage for work expected; learned a lot; a bit too strict on dress code for the majority when a minority of dress code violators ruined it.

Run!
No specific title was given to me (Former Employee) –  Warren MIJune 10, 2016
Horribly inept system, most of the jobs wouldn't be needed with a proper program for the business. A few managers were good people but most have no consideration for the employees, not enough knowledge to be managers and no scruples. No value for experience no matter how much you have that relates to the business - especially when it comes to pay. Starting pay is about on par with McDonalds and lots of the kids working there have degrees which just shows our economy is NOT doing well. Pay rates basically out of the 80's-90's. They move you around to new seats constantly. No cubicles - you are basically factory farmed people with your co-workers sitting practically on top of you but you best not be talking or you will be reprimanded! I was told the evening shift did not get paid for evening holidays like Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, they had to take personal time or come in on days to make up the time or not get paid - that's a family oriented company??? They grew very quickly taking on much more business than they had should have and now that business is drying up and they are laying off in droves. They were pretty good about letting you take days off for personal things but with so few days for personal/vacation time that would mostly be without pay. Lots of good people worked there in drone positions that had real jobs before and because of the economy this was all they could get but as mentioned experience had no value there. Hopefully more real jobs open up so they can be self supporting again not using their retirement or savings or having to work two jobs  more... to just barely survive.  less
Pros
Health insurance for yourself was cheap.
Cons
No consideration for past experience where pay concerned, horribly insufficient personal/vacation/sick time, wouldn't pay full holiday day pay for actual holidays for your shift, too much management and too much management not at all suited for those positions.......etc. etc.

Awesome Company to Work For
Mortgage Loan Processor (Former Employee) –  Owensboro, KYMay 28, 2015
Worked for Five Brothers for a few years and it amazed me how quickly I picked up on things. The processes were challenging, but that's what I loved about the position. There was nothing new to walk into as there was always something different and it kept you on your toes because it opened new doors for more knowledge to be obtained. Veteraned management was always willing and able to assist with questions and concerns that I had. I never had a hard moment or time while working with this company. The most enjoyable moments working with this company was simply that - working for their company, all as a whole. Working for Five Brothers opened a lot of doors for new opportunities for me.

Valuations Trainer and Specialist (Current Employee) –  Warren, MIMarch 18, 2015
Very difficult to talk to management, no ability to bring ideas to the table to help the department work more effectively and be more productive as a whole. Lack of trust from superiors to let employees think for themselves and work on given tasks without interruption.

Don't work here unless you really a job!
REO Exteriors (Former Employee) –  Warren, MINovember 9, 2014
This place is a joke. They set unrealistic production goals and management tries to motivate through harsh intimidation of lower level employees. The HR department constantly changes company policies regarding PTO and attendance and is unable to clarify anything so they can manipulate things to their advantage. The turnover rate is worse than retail or fast food. You are constantly threatened with write ups and occurrences. They treat their vendors poorly and always blame "the bank" that contracts them. Overtime is mandatory and they don't care about pre-made personal plans. If at 5pm Friday your manager says you're working on Saturday, you work on Saturday and if you don't, it's an occurrence. They don't capitalize on the talent they have and are always hiring lesser skilled people off the street and paying them more. You are a robot to this place. This is a loud warehouse environment with rude , noisy, inconsiderate coworkers who have no regard for the other people occupying the same space. The main building is cold and when it flooded, it took forever for them to test for mold and it still smells musty.
Pros
Benefits are cheap and decent.
Cons
Weak pay. Not much PTO. Horrible management.
