Management does not listen to therapists in any way, shape, or form, even though management was an ASSISTANT. Therapists routinely threatened and ordered to take on patients that do not qualify for skilled services, or treat patients longer than warranted, in order to meet RUG levels and create maximum Medicare reimbursement. Higher ups have the typical "all is wonderful, we love our company" attitude, while being treated to conferences, trainings, free food, etc. However, staff actually "on the ground" and doing the real work is treated worse than slaves. Rare holidays off, constant guilt trips if a paid day off is requested (unless you are a manager or chummy with one), requirement to find your own coverage for PTO, super high productivity requirements- 85% for therapists. Productivity standards mean that point of service documentation is necessary, which takes away from patient care. Constant running around all day, every day, trying to get 10-12 patients in without spending any time walking between rooms, tracking down absent or unavailable patients, or talking with nursing and other staff about patients in order to determine best POC. No budget at all for therapy materials, not even standardized tests that are required by Medicare in order to bill certain CPT codes. Management that will throw the employee under the bus every time in order to save their own skin.
Absolutely no way to provide the best possible service to the patients. Avoid this company at all costs!
