Poor Management
Assistant (Current Employee) –  Tysons Corner, VAJanuary 11, 2018
Managers constantly try to undermine one another, and don't seem to have any respect for their employees. They are really petty and will cut your hours.

TIPSHARE. There are always people who aren't pulling their weight. Also, tips are inconsistent. A server could make anywhere from like $8 an hour to $25.
Pros
Free food after shift
Cons
inconsistent hours, poor management, low income.

GM makes working there impossible. Managers decent guys. Be cautious
Server (Current Employee) –  The Woodlands, TXDecember 17, 2017
Good pay for the work you typically put in. Holiday seasons are kind of ridiculous because management only cares about their sales and not the quality of their customers experience. super crammed tables to where our butts were basically on another guest's table while greeting. Because of tip pooling it's hard to work here long if your a hustler and rock at getting good tips. Managers are decent men. Even they know the GM is terrible but they are just dealing with it. Overall it is a good place to work the pay averages out to $15 an hour and on holidays up to $30. But if you are a great server already you may prefer a place where you can keep your own tips. Those just starting this is a good place to learn. You just best have thick skin because again I can't stress enough the GM is just the hardest human to work for. Oh and be prepared for lots of side work before you can go home.
Pros
Free meal after each shift, discount

Restaurant Manager (Former Employee) –  Scottsdale, AZDecember 5, 2017
The culture was too Brazilian for me. I did not fit in as an American in their culture. I was forced to work 80+ hours per week at times, normal was 60.

High pay

Too much work for the small pay
Server/Waiter (Former Employee) –  Boston, MANovember 27, 2017
They lure you with promises of really good pay but instead you find there is a shared tip pool, which is unfair when you work the whole shift and someone who left early still gets the same tip as you did. Management is constantly harassing the employees in the middle of the peak hours of a shift and the schedules are consistent for those who want to dedicate their lives to the company and is presently inflexible for students or second-jobs. Don't be fooled, Fogo's "unique" server system is just you being a glorified busser.
Pros
Discount on select inventory items, free meals on the house while on break
Cons
Overworking in a fast-paced, stressful enviroment

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Minneapolis, MNNovember 13, 2017
Compared to working at most restaurants, st Fogo the tips are pretty consistent. Of course there are busy and slow times but take Home is usually the same. Management can be a little tough and staff can be unprofessional but it’s the restaurant business. Good opportunity to advance and make a lot of money if you work hard.
Pros
Free meals
Cons
Split shifts

Good money but very stressful and the new management is very poor.
Office Assistant/Head Cashier (Former Employee) –  Chicago, IL 60654October 30, 2017
working was not bad, most jobs are easy but...you only get a break if you work a double. So if you work only one shift a day then you only get one bathroom break if you're lucky to get one when you ask for it. If no one can cover your station you cannot leave it until someone does even in near emergency situations. The new management is poor, they start the day off positive most of the time but by the end of the night the energy is bad and rushed. The managers don't communicate well with each other or the staff. I learned how to work at faster pace, multi task better, manage my stress while working, and improved my customer service skills. I also learned what it takes to run a restaurant office and how to do it.
Pros
Holiday bonuses like gift cards and one free meal every shift.
Cons
Long shifts, and poor management.

This place had a great sense of teamwork on a every day basis. Food was always fresh and made people very happy. Management here didn't care if you had another life and therefore it was hard to work out holidays with them.

Follow the rules, Productive place of work
server (Former Employee) –  Manhattan, NYAugust 1, 2017
Long hours
Staff was either new, like me, or been there for years and felt entitled
Expect 1-2 days off per week, unless employee is too close to 40 hours
Understand there is no room/time for "fun." Work ONLY
Management follows rules, employees follow rules, very simple.
Maintaining professionalism is key, it's also why Fogo De Chao has such a high turn over rate.
I enjoyed this work environment.
Pros
free lunches
Cons
very long months
