Foley equipment really tries to take care of their employees. What they expect of the technicians could be better. I think that the techs could have more support.

Manager (Former Employee) –  Park CitySeptember 26, 2014
While many good and talented people work at Foley, their true capabilities will likely never be known due to the suffocating and risk averse culture. A family run business, it has grown dramatically in the last few years due to acquisitions. With now over 900 employees, what was likely a strength before (mom and pop style culture) is now a constraint. Forward thinking or leader type employees are more likely to be called on the carpet by the senior executive for driving change than to be commended. This has created a culture of little to no true empowerment and true process improvements are limited to a very few senior folks, ultimately requiring approval always of the senior executive.
Pros
Many good people are employed there.
Cons
Head in the sand culture.

Not a happy place to work
Equipment Tech (Former Employee) –  Manhattan, KSDecember 22, 2013
Service manger and shop manager very disconnected from employees in shop. Both mangers incompetent to lead anyone in shop, you were on your own or had to get help from other employees, who were very knowledgeable and helpful. The hardest part for me was repairing something or replacing something that didn't need to be because my boss told me to when I knew there was a better, cheaper or more efficient way to do it. If you did suggest a different way or suggest that there could be another way to do something , you were labeled as argumentative
Pros
tool allowance
Cons
Tech rating system a joke

Master CAT Diesel Techician (Former Employee) –  Wichita, KSOctober 25, 2012
Truck shop manager was very disconnceted not only to employees needs but customers needs. When you suggested changes it was taken as an attack on his position and followed by retaliation or grudge. Management also did not follow thier own ethics rules unless it work for thier benefit. The fellow workers on the other hand were exceptional and very helpful.
Pros
good benefits
Cons
poor management
