Global Food Company is seeking a highly effective Payroll Specialist to enhance the overall employee experience by accurately processing, administering and maintaining employee data as it relates to the payroll system resulting in the computation of net earnings. This role will create resolution to first tier issues related to payroll, respond to inquiries sent to the payroll department and is expected to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Perform diverse duties in the processing and administration of employee payroll, and as assigned.
Serve as a reference for all employee payroll questions and concerns and handle all payroll adjustments in a timely manner to ensure resolution of employee claims and compliance with governmental regulations and maximize employee experience and ongoing level of understanding.
Act as the subject matter expert for unemployment and local tax processes and issues.
Partner with payroll related vendors to efficiently and effectively resolve issues and maximize system resources to best serve the organization and employees.
Identify payroll related process improvement efforts and partner with payroll team to implement.
Maintain and process all garnishment and child support withholding orders in a timely manner. Respond and communicate to both the employee and the garnishee regarding garnishment and child support withholding.
3-5 years payroll processing experience.
Experience with GL process a plus.
Working knowledge of garnishment and levy laws throughout the country.
Working knowledge of local tax laws.
Associates Degree, preferably in Finance or Human Resources.
CPP certification a plus.
Knowledge Ceridian payroll system a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the overall payroll cycle process in a multi-state environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
