Productive and kind of a challenge
Sales Associate/Cashier (Current Employee), Raleigh, NC – May 1, 2013
Pros: benefits
Cons: short breaks
My typical day at work is checking customers out , getting carts , and basically helping customers find something. what i have learned at work is all the customers are correct no matter the situation. Management and my co-workers are kind of a pain , me personally i think they could do more to make the workplace a better place. the hardest part of the – more... job is helping the customers find something you have no clue as to what it is, on the other hand the most enjoyable part is when you are clocking out to go home – less

Cashier (Former Employee), High Point, NC – April 24, 2013
Pros: outside break
Cons: rude customers
A typical day at work includes doing what you are suppose to do always pleasing the customers. Acknowledging that the customer is always right. I learned to bite my tongue a lot even when you are disrespected and have had money threw at you, you just smile. I loved all my co_workers they made my day go by faster. The most enjoyable part of the day is – more... when you get to go home. – less

A job for the high schooler
Cashier (Former Employee), Fayetteville, NC – April 9, 2013
Pros: meeting new people
Cons: not making enough money
This was my first job. I was really excited to start this adventure. I got to meet and greet daily customers that came in the store regularly. I moved from cashier to office personnel. I balanced cash registers and trained newly hired cashiers. This was a new experience for me and I enjoyed every bit of it. I just wanted to make a little bit more money – more... so I had to leave. – less

Productive work place.
Cashier (Current Employee), Norwood, NC – March 27, 2013
Pros: get to talk to people all day! meet new people everyday!
Cons: hours, low pay.
A typical day would be greeting customers, and ringing their orders up, then going on a thirty minute break. I learned how to deal with all sorts of situations including how to fix "mess ups" and learning how to still have a friendly composure through any personal life issues you may have going on. My management is pretty decent, they have mess ups, – more... but no one in this world is perfect. I love my co-workers! The hardest part of my job is dealing with unhappy customers, or rude customers with a smile! The most enjoyable part of my job is being able to meet and talk to new people everyday! – less

My experience has given me more knowledge about customer service.
Front- End Associate (Former Employee), Savannah, Ga – March 22, 2013
Pros: company parties and acknowldgement good work
Cons: mandatory inconsistent break times
I feel this job was a good way to start out. A typical day at work would be to operate the register, assist as well as speak to the customers. There would be the occasional laugh amongst the employees but generally a nice environment. The management was always open and honest with their employees. They made you feel like you were a part of a team. My – more... co-workers ranged in personality but there was never a boring day. The hardest part of the job was dealing with difficult customers and thieves that would come in but these problems were manageable. What I enjoyed most was the feeling of family and friendship amongst my co-workers. I've learned from having this job that good customer service goes a long way in maintaining customers. – less
