SEEKING SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER : USA
We are seeking a senior mechanical engineer in Waltham, Massachusetts. The position requires a hands-on, organized, and detail-oriented person able to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous management experience is strongly desired. The candidate is expected to be very hands-on with technical details and must lead by example. The candidate will be mentored by the Director of Worldwide Engineering. In turn, the candidate will be responsible for mentoring and developing other mechanical engineers in the US and Indonesia. There is exciting progress in many disciplines at Formulatrix: microfluidics, robotics, optics, and materials research provide daily challenges for our team. This position requires a person able to simultaneously take multiple products from concept through maturity. Candidates must exhibit a high degree of ownership and commitment to releasing quality products on time. Candidates must work well independently, with worldwide team members, and with customers. The candidate is expected to travel to customer sites and Formulatrix' offices worldwide as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) required.
3-5 years of mechanical engineering design experience. Experience with robotics, micro fluidics, and optics is a plus, but not required.
Prior experience in supervising and people management
Extremely strong leadership and communication skills
Experience with SolidWorks for design work.
Quick learner with strong leadership and management potential.
Candidates should be eager to work in this challenging environment at a minimum of 50 hours per week.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to travel as needed.
