Junior Designer / Office Assistant

Fortune | Design + Drapery is looking for a fun and energetic junior designer/office assistant to join our team. We are a small high-end residential interior design firm located in the Cannery Village area of Newport Beach. The candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to new and changing responsibilities as we are a growing firm. A passion and enthusiasm for interior design is a must. We are extremely hardworking, serious and very detail oriented but we also like to have fun, as we believe it’s very important to love and enjoy your job. Design responsibilities include:

  • Assisting lead designer with resourcing for client projects & presentations
  • Preparing meeting notes
  • Drafting detailed interior design plans and construction documents using AutoCAD (floor plans, schedules, lighting plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations)
  • Placing and tracking orders for all client projects
  • Scheduling installations and/or deliveries

Administrative responsibilities include:

  • General bookkeeping and accounting using Quickbooks
  • Maintaining client files and bookkeeping records
  • Ordering office supplies as needed

Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining company website and various social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, blog, Houzz)
  • Designing advertisements and marketing material for company

Qualifications/Crucial Minimum requirements, applicant MUST be:

  • Extremely proficient in AutoCAD (minimum of 2 years of daily work experience using CAD)
  • Proficient in Photoshop (InDesign and Illustrator a plus)
  • Extremely detailed and organized
  • A critical thinker/problem solver
  • An excellent writer and posses great oral communication skills
  • A person whom possesses a good general working knowledge of the California Building Code

$10-20/hour depending on experience.
