Some Homes have 75 plus beds and some have 2 stories of 75 beds. You must have exceptional skills in order to have substantial etiquette for grooming 12 patients a day, Checking vitals for your weakest patient to your strongest, Dressing and feeding and Mobilizing every individual daily.
General Requirement is to communicate to your staff. The Home is not held responsible for patient complaints that are reported and managed properly. Negligence is avoided if person is monitered properly and situation is managed per shift.
Fox Rehabilitation is a place where people have difficulty recovering from illness due to age, to frequencies of falls , loss of mobility or eyesight. Impailments are due to lack of proper nutrition or car wrecks and dementia or permanent illness like cancer, kidney failure and heart disease.
Management has a chain of command and they have higher bosses. You assert yourself to the coworkers in agreeable ways; then if the worker does not heed, Petition your floor supervisor and ask them to be present for the second communication. If This gets out of hand Go to the Head Nurse on duty. Usually there are Certified nurse aides and Licensed Nurse Practioners to address the patient needs or Your needs.
Coworkers work night shift from 11-7am; The other shifts are 7am- 5pm and 5pm-11. They are doing double tasks and they are trying to support a family and do the career, or doing a career and maintaining an apartment.
THe hardest part of the job is when you have a dementia patient that runs away and is forgetful when their last meal was consumed.
The enjoyable part is seeing more fortunate people and their family interacting and helping therapy team coerce the individual to get better and get discharged.
