Frameline is the nation's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to the distribution, promotion, funding and exhibition of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media arts. Framelineís integrated programs provide critical funding for emerging LGBT filmmakers, reach hundreds of thousands with a collection of more than 200 films distributed nationally, and create an international stage for the world's best queer film through the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival and additional year-round screenings. Frameline's San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, is the world's oldest and largest celebration of LGBT cinema. Frameline Distribution offers over 170 titles for rental and sale, from experimental to narrative, documentary and short fiction. Frameline partners with The Horizons Foundation to offer The Horizons/Frameline Film & Video Completion Fund. Established over ten years ago to assist lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender media artists with the final stages of production. To date, more than 50 films and videos have been completed with assistance from the fund.
Frameline's mission is to strengthen the diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community and further its visibility by supporting and promoting a broad array of cultural representations and artistic expression in film, video, and other media arts.
