Caring health providers and system
Patient Accounts Support Coordinator (Current Employee), Joplin, MOMay 21, 2014
Pros: learning opportunities
Cons: restricted room for growth
I have always enjoyed working for Freeman Health System and have had great opportunities to grow. Administration and management truly seem to have a sense of caring which makes you want to make the system succeed. One of the biggest issues is that many individuals of the general staff seem to not care or be devoted to their purpose. There is quite a – more... bit of juvenility throughout certain departments and areas, but you have that in any place of business to an extent. Overall staff work together to provide excellent quality of care and service to our community and patients. – less

not enough work ethic by staff and mgmt shows favoritism
Patient Service Representative (Current Employee), Joplin, MOMay 11, 2014
Pros: job security
Cons: no breaks or accountability
work four 10 hour days on Medicare follow up
how to effectively resolve aged accounts
management shows favoritism to a few and there isn't a lot of support
A few of my co-workers, mostly upper 30's and above are very dependable. Many are in early 20's and have little/no work ethic
Getting MCR to pay some claims
Accomplishing my goal of resolving accounts

Strict and Scheduled Work Environment
Admissions Representative Specialist (Current Employee), Joplin, MOJanuary 7, 2014
Pros: 10 minute on the clock breaks
Cons: strict work environment
A typical day at work is a very busy day. I have learned how to balance my time and to say no if need be. Management will work with you only if you work with them, however it is hard to receive raises and to move up in the department. The co-workers are for the most part very easy to work with, but you have to depend on them to do everything correctly – more... because otherwise you are going back to fix their mistakes. The hardest part of the job is trying to do everything correctly while trying to multitask 5 other things. The most enjoyable part of the job is coming across patients that are very appreciative and happy with their experience. – less

Director of Learning and Staff Development (Former Employee), Joplin, MOOctober 31, 2013
In Learning and Staff Development your day is not your own! It was very much dictated to doing what needed to be done, especially when caring for over 4,000 employees.

If you qualify for the position, and in your advanced years. They will not hire you. They practice a form of silence age discrimination. Because HR passes the buck to other departments..

Challenging place to work at times with great peers
Registered Nurse (Current Employee), Joplin, MOJune 15, 2013
Pros: short commute; wonderful benefits and coworkers
Cons: staffing shortages; high nurse to patient ratio
Co-workers for the most part are dedicated. Hardest part of the job is the nurse to patient ratio. Management tends to micro-manage.

Cons: snitches supervisors are not right no breaks
They did me wrong working there. There is a lot of snitches at the company, i felt like during training I was scared to asked questions during training because you wouldn't get the credit, in my 30 day evaluation. she counted me off because i worn tennis shoes one time and violated the dress code. i forgot everyone makes mistakes, no lead way there. – more... so if you work at the billing department beware. – less

Many jobs to be able to get into and has good pay and benefits.
Pharmacy Technician (Current Employee), Joplin, MOApril 6, 2013
There are slow days and fast days but you manage through them with good co-workers to support you. I learned much and still learn something everyday because things always change in a hospital. The hardest part of the job is when you are short staffed and sometimes can be asked to work everyday of the week. If you are not careful and keep working you – more... will get burnt out quickly because you won't see your family very often. – less

All around great place to work for.
Warehouse tech (Former Employee), 1212 W. 2nd Joplin, Mo 64801March 27, 2013
Pros: good employees, good management, good pay, and good benefits.
Cons: the slow days.
Must have great people skills. The employees are easy going and work well together. Management is on top of any and every problem that might come up. I loved the work and the pay was good. Has good benefits. Freeman has thought me what a good business is suppose to be like. I was in shipping and receiving and I loved every aspect of the job. The only – more... bad thing were the slow days when there was not much work to be done. If I hadn't moved I would still be there to this day. – less

not a good place to work
healthcare (Former Employee), joplin, moOctober 23, 2012
for the most part, the people here are good. management is horrible. They don't know how to communicate effectively and depending on the department you work in, you should be worried about your job stability

Cassiesmom – January 26, 2013

They make up the rules as they go along, You might be complimented on your work one day and then they let you go the next. The brown nosing effect is definately in play at this facility. Not organized, very bad communication between administration and employees. Pay scale varies depending on who you are. Alot of bullying in certain clinics.
