Intern must work with graphic designers and translate ideas and graphic media into innovating, engaging, yet usable web functionality. The majority of the work will consist of website development and social media marketing development, with limited work in Facebook App development, custom page UX/UI applications, and member-based platform applications (PHP, JS, and MySQL databases in a server environment).
The chosen candidate will be given a desk to work at in our office space. The position will require up to 25 hours per week, including meeting times. Intern will occasionally be required to attend client meetings and/or optional events in and around the St. Louis metro area.
Candidates are preferred to be enrolled in an academic institution to be considered and working on a degree in a related field. This internship is for academic credit & experience only.
-Communicate with project managers and designers on all projects.
-Maintain clean, organized, and up-to-date client folders.
- Maintain clean, organized, and optimized (SEO) code for all work.
-Develop all websites based around UX/UI best practices.
-Intern will work in conjunction with a web designer for most projects.
-Complete all projects according to the project schedule and remain within the allotted bid hours for coding time.
-Intern will be asked and encouraged to voice his/her opinion regarding code, based on his/her experience and academic knowledge
- Intern must submit weekly project reports on all of his/her projects
-Intern will occasionally need to speak with the client directly and/or attend client meetings.
Proficient with Dreamweaver 8 and higher (Adobe Dreamweaver CS5)
Proficient knowledge of UX/UI design-development concepts.
Ability to work in a variety of platforms, ranging form ftp server to commercial web host (GoDaddy, Yahoo, Webs, Intuit, etc.).
Working knowledge of SEO best practices.
Self-motivated with ability to hold oneself accountable to time and deadlines
Must have the ability to multi-task and be able to change gears with little to no notice or supervision.
Must be an excellent communicator and understand that most people have no concept or understanding of code language
Must be eager to learn and further develop as a professional — keeping current with Facebook Developer and innovations and updates in code language.
Working knowledge of Flash development preferred
Proficient with entire Adobe Creative Suite (CS3 or higher) – Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign — Preferred
Experience working with Facebook Fan Pages preferred.
