A good first sales job
Account Representative (Former Employee), Lenexa, KSNovember 11, 2013
This was a very good first job just being out of retail. The sales training was very good, but the day to day experience out of training is not the most supportive and the leads are nowhere near as good as they sell you on in the interview. The team that I worked with was great however and I definitely enjoyed that aspect of the job.

Business Telemarketer with a fun side
New Business Representative / Sales (Former Employee), Lenexa KSAugust 13, 2013
Pros: awesome lunch/break room & many co-workers to talk to, benefits, bonuses, time off
Cons: not flexible on quotas, employee retention
All about numbers company with sales and booking freight. Made a ton of calls a day to try and get business going. They taught me the broker side of the freight business as I never been in it before. Some of the management was ok and helpful. There were so many people working for the company so you had all walks of life there. The hardest part of the – more... job was meeting the # of calls we had to do each time and also the talk time on the phone to get new customers in the door & staying late to do it. The most enjoyable was helping the customers out and interacting with them. – less

Horrible Experience
Sales Management (Former Employee), Lenexa, KSJuly 29, 2013
Pros: nice to your face, lots of benefits, and pay is decent. it has to be for people to stay!
Cons: too many to list, see review.
Full of false promises, backstabbing co-workers who are star struck by the CEO. Liars and shady people everywhere, do not trust anyone! Company will go out death by 1000 cuts. They fire several people everyday even if they make one minor mistake. Horrible training, horrible management, do not waste your time!

Freight Broker (Former Employee), Roseville, MNApril 22, 2013
Pros: casual dress
Cons: need to be 'one of the guys' in order to fit in
More of a 'Fraternity' like environment. Is a good job if you are young and just starting out.

Keep the change in your pocket!!
Freight Broker (Current Employee), Lenexa, KSApril 20, 2013
Pros: decent benefits, close to home.
Cons: constant change, weak management, limited growth within in the company.
Most positions will require endless hours of being on the phone. You will make at least 100 outbound calls and receivie at least 100 inbound. Often times the outbound calls will be cold calls to people who dont want to talk to you about your super cheap freight/rates! At least four hours of talk time a day, 10 plus loads covered. Like changing the location – more... of your office space 5,6,7 times a year?? FQ has plenty of that! You count can on at least one major change to the way business is conducted about every 60-90 days. These will often be complete overhauls, requiring you to look foolish to your customers, loose business, or just out right question the leadership abilities of FQ. The leadership is so bad that they will promote people who sleep at their desk, who wonder around all day, or just flat out accomplish very little. The company is so concerned with beating the competition, yet they overlook the best ways to do this. Moving to a new multimillion dollar building, promoting bad employees, poor leaders, and the constant change will only help sink this ship! Bottom line is FQ does need a major overhaul, but to the management, the way business is conducted, and keeping their good people! – less

I loved working with people across the nation
Account Manager (Former Employee), Lenexa, KSNovember 15, 2012
Pros: customer satisfaction and commission payout
Cons: too many changes in company payout and procedures, not enough management support
Each day was different, beginning with calls to customers to setup theirs needs for the day or week. Handled most issues that occurred. By afternoon, I averaged about 80 calls a day and about four hours of talk time. Building relationships with my clients is very important to me and gaining their trust in all situations.

The job to me was not hard, – more... it came very easily to me and I learned the process, I caught on quick to many ways of selling and making profit for myself and the company. – less

Hard to make quotas
New Business Representative (Former Employee), Overland Park, KSOctober 3, 2012
Pros: fair pay, not enough to have to put up with the divas
Cons: cramped, no privacy, can hear everything within 20 feet, so customers hear cuss words etc.
Turn over rate is terrible, the unemployment man I talked to said they had more lay offs than any employer in the state of KS. While there I was told that over 300 per year was normal lay offs. They continously hire replacements.

Quotas are un reasonable, they want 100 calls per day and your supposed to book, help the customer which can take up to – more... an hour at a time. Management individuals nag constantly. – less

Glorified Call Center
Account Representative - Inside Sales Rep (Former Employee), Lenexa, KSMay 31, 2012
Pros: no weekends
Cons: weak mgmt, no breaks and lunch, work-life balance non-existent
Seems great, until you spend 3-4 mos in your cubicle trying to bust out a 100 calls/day of cold calling. Management and support were weak. 8-5 gig..."IF" you meet your quota - that increases every month regardless of previous months sales. Then...'if' your not getting 'lucky', cuz its really all luck - you are asked to come in early, take no lunch, – more... no breaks, minimize restroom breaks, and stay late - which does nothing for meeting quota except makin more pointless calls. "Churn and Burn" workplace...high turnover. – less
