shipper, Orlando, FL - July 8, 2014
When I started working at Freshpoint, I thought it was the best job I ever had and I was under the impression that they cared about their employees. I thought that my hard work would pay off. I was working 6 days a week 12hrs a day if not more, It took me two years of this to finally receive a review that consists of a raise in pay of 50 cents, when I was guaranteed a raise every year. I transferred to the night shift after three and a half years. When I transferred, the night shift began at 7:30 p.m. until about 4:30 - 5:00 a.m. Then the company decided to take on more business then they could handle and pushed our start time to 5:45 p.m. and we would finish around 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. This is very unhealthy for the human body as I would almost fall asleep on the drive home every morning due to exhaustion from working so many hours of physical labor. And the company did nothing to change this. After working there for four and a half years my seniority meant nothing as I was told by a supervisor. Certain people were offered new equipment before me and were given more oppourtunity to make more money while I was treated like a rookie. They treated me like I just started working there even though I was the third longest lasting shipper they had. I also kept my credits (errors) very low and still was never rewared for all of my hard work and time that ive devoted to the company. There is a high rate of favoritism in this company and it has shortend my room for growth. I am a man with three kids to feed and I always give 100%. I joined the Freshpoint team because I was looking for a career but I was not able to establish one because of favoritism due supervisors and employees being retated.
