"High Line Ranger" Sounds exciting doesn't it? Not an unpleasant job but be prepared to have your schedule flipped upside down with overnight shifts that are poorly explained and poorly paid. Hourly pay is definitely less than that of a nice, consistent barista job but as a Ranger, you perform all of the same duties while walking 13 hot miles during your shift.
There are some fun days if you like strolling the city, particularly in non-peak hours when you can enjoy the park at a normal walking speed. Lots of pre/post-production for events was lacking in structure; people in ''leadership'' frequently were under-informed.
The High Line cannot not take on full-time seasonal rangers for the peak season due to the headache of making these positions salaried/insured. Lame.
