Good company with good benefits
Merchant Services Specialist (Current Employee) –  Lancaster, PASeptember 28, 2017
This is a good company with good benefits but the training is lacking severely. Be prepared to learn on your own here. Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will learn all this on your own. Very little help.
Pros
Great benefits, financially solid company, good culture
Cons
poor training with very little help if you don't remember something.

TOO MANY HOURS - No life outside of work!!!
Current Employee (Current Employee) –  East Petersburg, PASeptember 25, 2017
Every department is sorely understaffed so I am working well over 50 hours per week. When a department member leaves then the work just gets pushed onto those of us left behind. Not worth the low salary that they pay. Benefits and PTO are decent but that's about it. I can say that's positive about this place. LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Pros
Benefits and PTO
Cons
Everything else - too much work for too little staff in my dept.

Fulton is a good company to work for. The remote access is a big incentive with the company. I like my Team members and my manager. There are constantly opportunities becoming available.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  New JerseyAugust 11, 2017
Not the same Bank it use to be. More focus on sales.
Trying to keep up with the larger banks. A lot of changes. Less staff more work load. All about
sales and numbers.
Pros
Paid Holidays, loyal customers.
Cons
No work life balance especially if you have young children.

ok to work for
New Loan Specialist (Former Employee) –  East Petersburg, PAAugust 9, 2017
With the new changes within the departments, there were times when there was not enough work to keep you busy all day, there was nondescript work that could be done. Most of the work depended on the home sales market, which at times you could be busy or bored. Cross training was suppose to start within the next couple of months in the year 2017, cross training was on the residential, consumer and commercial loans.
Pros
great coworkers
Cons
can be bored

an interesting place to work
Training and Development Manager (Former Employee) –  Lancaster, PAAugust 4, 2017
The culture was not what was expected or what resonated with me. My values were not in alignment with the organizations. Diversity and Inclusion did not appear to be a priority and that was evidenced in every area of the organization.
Pros
Great employees
Cons
Organization and leadership struggled with vision for the organization

Operations Supervisor I (Current Employee) –  East Petersburg, PAJuly 26, 2017
Every department in this corporation is different. I work in a high stress environment, but there are also very slow days. I advanced many times in my position and the culture in my department is fun, but we also know when to work since we have a strict deadline to meet. Communication is key when it comes to any job. This corporation has great benefits compared to other companies. As long as you meet your qualifications for a position, there should be no issue getting into a job that a person sees fit.

Lack of advancement potential with small footprint, lack of leadership, and absolutely no work life balance. Antiquated processes and systems leading to poor work environment and client experience.

All about sales, sales, and more sales. Becomes very difficult to sell to the everyday customers who already have everything or you've already tried selling to.
Pros
Great training, pay and benefit okay

Teller (Former Employee) –  Wyomissing, PAFebruary 5, 2017
No room for advancement that rather higher from outside the company than within. Training is nowhere good enough for the systems they need you to use for customer request. They give you a schedule but are allowed to change on a days notice if they chose too. Double standard definitely what's good for some isn't allowed for others. Was so hired for a schedule and then that slowly started changing and then you are told you are inflexible. No review will ever say anything positive about you but be a complete list of negativity. Not worth the 12 bucks an hour. Not ideal for working moms
Pros
Off certain holidays

Easy going
Property Valuation Administrator Temp (Current Employee) –  Lancaster, PAJanuary 8, 2017
The job is pretty easy going even when busy, co-workers within your unit can be friendly however be prepared for anyone outside of your unit to not know what you do or even their own job.
Pros
Free coffee/tea
Cons
Promotions that last 3 months can last up to a year, people will complain about things you can't control, an example: appraisers who work for several other banks being backed up.

CSR - Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Middleburg, PASeptember 21, 2016
Worked many years here in various positions. Expectations are to sell, sell and sell. To the point that customer service is no longer the focus. Found management unresponsive and uninterested in promoting a healthy workplace environment.
Pros
My coworkers were extremely nice people.
Cons
Management will not address any issues.

A lot to learn...
CSR (Current Employee) –  New JerseyJanuary 8, 2016
There's so much to learn it gets confusing especially if you don't have any banking experiece. Some Employees are ok but it does get stressful and could become discouraging when you're trying hard to learn all the stuff. Feels like you're not learning things quick enough. Some of the trainers that sit with you to"help you" become impatient with you and even take over doing the work for you instead of patiently helping you understand the different tasks throughout. Then you're looked at like you did something wrong. That makes it hard to focus on ALL the different screens you have to maneuver through when a Customer calls in. If you're a fast learner this job is definitely for you. Something to get use to. Trying to hang in there.
Pros
Supervisors are patient and helpful
Cons
A lot to learn

CSR Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Swineford National BankDecember 18, 2015
Terrible management throughout the entire corporation. Company motto is to Care, Listen, Understand, and Deliver! What a joke! Customers are not treated equal. If you have money within the bank or are predominate within the community you get special treatment. Employees are treated with no respect...especially long time employees. A lot of 15+ year employees have left...what does that tell ya??? My manager not only played favoritism; she would play employees against each other. She has a very degrading personality. If she didn't like you or in my case was threatened by my intelligence and banking knowledge; she would nit pick everything you did and report it to her superiors. She is extremely title driven, anyone with a title less than she; she degraded and looked down on. After discussing my working conditions and feelings with several of her superiors; with no results just complete disregard; I choose to resign because of the mental stress she was causing me.
