FWMurphy's law has to do with keeping machinery under control. The company makes hundreds of products that monitor and control compressors, pumps, generators, engines, and other equipment. FWMurphy makes engine-driven equipment controls, gauges and industrial control systems for automotive, industrial, oil and gas production, agriculture, and marine applications. The gauges can measure fluid level, pressure, temperature, and vibration. Its Control Systems & Services division in Texas designs and fabricates control systems primarily for natural gas compressors. FWMurphy also has operations in the UK through Frank W. Murphy, Ltd. and in China as FW Murphy Instruments (Hangzhou).
FWMurphy's related companies include Murphy Power Ignition (ignition controllers and coils, output harnesses, and brushless alternators), and Compliance Controls (air-fuel control systems) -- both are located in Oklahoma. Branded products include the electric Swichgage; the Murphygage instrument for pressure, vacuum and temperature; HelmView for the marine market; the PowerView 101 for the display of data about electronic engines and transmissions; and the Cascade engine and motor controller, among others.
Products introduced in 2011 included the Sentinel 300P battery charger, which can be used with both 12-volt and 24-volt systems, and the Engine Integrated Control System for spark-ignited, natural-gas engines.
In 2011 FWMurphy teamed with Greer Company to develop a PowerView display product for mobile crane equipment.
Frank Murphy founded his namesake company in 1939. Formerly a sales manager for a major equipment distributor, he set up the company to create a more effective engine safety switch. – less
