Custom Protective Officer (Current Employee) –  Baltimore, MDJune 28, 2017
They are the worse company to work for. They always messing up your pay. If you work a holiday and overtime in the same week you will not receive your holiday pay. If you only work 40 hours in a week that there is a holiday you do receive the holiday pay.

Worst place ever to work
Security Officer (Former Employee) –  Ashwaubenon, WIJune 28, 2017
They don't care about their employees. When you ask them to do something simple, it gets brushed under the table and are told "we are working on it." However the moment something gets brought up about one of the employees i.e. a complaint, they get the complainants statement and never get the employees side and do a proper investigation. They just fire the employee based off of a one sided story which was a lie/false statement. For a security company that is suppose to protect their clients, they do a horrific job of treating their employees with fairness and due process!

Comprehensive training
Custom Protection Officer (Former Employee) –  Denver, COJune 28, 2017
G4S offers comprehensive training before starting at a position. Training is paid and covers so may of the situations you could encounter in various postings in security that the company has to offer.

Large company with employees with egos
CUSTOM PROTECTION OFFICER (CPO) (Former Employee) –  Anaheim, CAJune 27, 2017
Portray themselves to be the largest security firm in the world. Management employees abuse their position. Huge turn around with guards due to low pay, no fixed schedule, no fixed position. If they need you somewhere at a certain time, that is your post for that day.

Do not work for this company
Security Officer (Current Employee) –  Greensboro, NCJune 25, 2017
This company is all about how much money they can put in their pockets and give the grunts or traditional security officers as little as possible to do their job. See uniforms and overtime cut into the higher ups annual bonuses and they don't want to give that money up meanwhile they get a company car, gas, and good pay. This company is beyond whack. They will have people driving 20-30 miles from their homes just to make $9 an hour. If you need a job avoid G4S use it as a last resort. When you first get hired good luck you may or may not be working. It usually takes them about a month to find you a location and when they do it will be part time hours. This company overhires and the turn over is sky high. Be prepared to work a double shifts everyday, because you can't leave the site until you get a relief. They will hire anyone that has a heartbeat and it doesn't matter if they can speak English or not. There is no advancement in this company it's a dead end job. Whatever site you get placed and whatever the wage is, is what you will get there is no negotiation. Don't expect a promotion or appreciation for showing up on time. They make you pay for everything background, fingerprints. and your licence fee which comes out of your paycheck every year except your picture will not change just the expiration date. Horrible insurance and benefits package it might as well be called take your money and run.
Pros
easy work
Cons
Pay, ignorant employees, no benefits and no communication

Amazing company to work with.
Unarmed Security Guard (Former Employee) –  Tempe, AZJune 22, 2017
Atypical day at work flys by. I've learned how to direct calls and control situations with customers. Managment works hand in hand with their employes. the hardest part of the job was having to be on one side of the building doing paperwork then recieve a phonecall to run all the way down to the other side of the building.
Pros
Lunch Breaks
Cons
Got to be on your A Game!

Good compensation, terrible work/life balance/ demanding schedule
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Jupiter, FLJune 22, 2017
My particular manager had no business being a manager. He lacked communication skills, had no idea how to manage and in spite of hard work and endless/tireless hours was laid off with no reason. Worked there almost 3 years. No verbal or written warning, he did what he wanted with nobody to answer to. Worked an average of 50 hours a week. Long hours and even weekends. Executives line their pockets with bonuses and 6 figure incomes along with getting trips and BMW's but pay the poor guards who are the backbone of the company $10 an hour. Just unappreciative to who the actual frontline worker is and does.
Pros
Free coffee

Traditional Security Officer (Former Employee) –  Morrisville, NCJune 21, 2017
I did not mind working there if they can actually put you on a site and keep you there. Having to move from site to site was not very fun or hard to plan where you were going to be going from one day to the next.
Pros
flexable working hours
Cons
management issues
