Great place to learn and grow
Lead Design Engineer (Former Employee) – Princeton, NJ – October 17, 2017
GE was competitive, rewarding, challenging with great opportunities for growth and development. Everyday an employee can expect to see and learn something new and be a part of a great team providing state of the arts solutions to a wide range of customers.
The management structure at GE is supportive with institutionalized review system to evaluate, motivate, train and develop employees. GE has an inclusive culture and compensation is comparative with other companies in the industry.
In my day to day activities, I worked with highly skilled engineers to develop products or solutions that keep our customers wat ahead of their competitors. I deal with the manufacturing side of the business, the supply management, the process improvement operations, contracts and the program offices.
I learned to work collaboratively, drive and seek for excellence every day since failures in our products will be measured in lives lost. I learned to work with the suppliers to meet our very high standard of quality demanded by our product performance requirements, our customers’ expectations and trust in the GE brand as well as assist the suppliers to improve hers processes in order to be successful and profitable.
The hardest part of the Job was managing the schedule and budget since these two things were real drivers on product delivery, cost management, profitability, new business captures and employee satisfaction. The fun part was delivering the products on time and on budget.
