Shipment Associate (Current Employee), Mentor,OhioJuly 27, 2015
I am a Shipping a Receiving Associate. I Unload merchandise via pallet jack and send pallets back with driver. I also process the merchandise. This is the process of attaching prices and removing all excess – more... material that is not floor room acceptable. I am also the Shoes and Domestics assistant manager. This is where I assist in overseeing all things in these two departments including arrangements and markdowns. – less

Crew Member/ Cashier (Current Employee), Gastonia, NCJune 17, 2015
Pros: few hours
Cons: few hours, no benefits, favoritism, hard work, little appreciation
Demand alot of employees with little appreciation. Hours are inconsistent and supervisors are rude. You'll be expected to know how to do everything and if you don't you will be treated like you're stupid.

Merchandise Manager/Assistant Store Manager (Current Employee), Wilkes-Barre, PAJune 8, 2015
Pros: good salary
Cons: not consistant with expectations with management staff
The expectations of the company were very unrealistic. Freight processing and placement had much to be desired, with an undersized stock and processing area and lack of payroll budget were the major factors.

Sales associate (Former Employee), Fredericksburg, VaJune 5, 2015
Pros: Nice GM
Cons: rude department managers
I am so ashamed of this place. They do not train at all, and the department managers are so rude to associates. The higher end managers are nice but don't seem to notice how the associates get treated. I've barely learned anything! Oh and coworkers are super cliquey.

Cashier (Former Employee), Pittsburgh, PAJune 4, 2015
Pros: discounts
Cons: seasonal job
Fast, fun work day learning how to work the cash register was great. I really liked management and my co-workers we worked as a team. The hardest part was putting back clothes not knowing what area the go in because my title was a cashier. The best part about being a cashier is that it was a easy fast paced job.

Cashier (Former Employee), Monroeville, PAMay 8, 2015
Cons: Irregular hours.
The staff we're always nice, I would greet them and customers with a smiling face. The hardest part of the job is when a customer would take their bad day out on you but I learned that everyone has a bad day and to just listen. The most enjoyable part of the day is when i made a customer laugh, management was good strict but also fun at the same time.

Cashier (Former Employee), Bridgeport, WVMay 2, 2015
Pros: half hour lunch and two paid 15 minute breaks
Cons: health benefits
I had a great experience for a first job. I really liked and and the people i worked with. A typical day at work for me would be running register while having 2 or more departments on the floor. Management – more... was great when i first started at the end of my employment at gabriel brothers the management needed some changes. My co-workers and i got along great. The hardest part of the job would be when i had 3 or more jobs to get done in a small part of time. The most enjoyable part for me is when they put me in the warehouse or in the fittingroom. – less

Pros: I love customer service and many of the employees were friendly.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Morgantown, WVMarch 19, 2015
Pros: enjoyable employees
Cons: no benefits, no full-time, too much down time.
The company was stable in the economy; however, management at the corporate location was very inexperienced. I had a few issues with how management dealt with issues dealing with clients. Unfortunately, – more... I feel the company lacked an overall knowledge of how a business should be ran. My position within the company was put under an immense amount of pressure, due to the lack of communication between other aspects of the company. It made the company extremely hard to work for. – less

A fast paced and very demanding job!
Department Manager/Sales Associate (Former Employee), Greensburg, PANovember 3, 2014
Pros: meet and work with great people.
Cons: health care could have been better.
I would have to say that the most enjoyable part of the job, is getting to know those who you work with. You learn to depend on one another to accomplish tasks and make the store the best it can be!! Meeting – more... so many people who shop there, who you truly get to know and love, just like Family. I have learned that I can do what I set my mind to, even though it can get very stressful at times, depending on the time of the year, but you just learn to do what you have to do, to get the job done! Your job becomes your life.

Up until the time I left, I worked with some of the best managers ever!!! The hardest part of the job would be, having to say good bye to those you have grown to love, my co-workers, my friends. – less

Customer Service Associate (Current Employee), Cincinnati, OhioOctober 23, 2014
During my time as a Dept. Manager, I was able to be creative in setting displays of merchandise.
As a Customer Service Rep, I enjoy building relationships with the regular shoppers. They look forward to talking with sales associates that have knowledge of the products.
