STORE MANAGER/SALES, Tacoma, WA - October 6, 2012
A typical day at work is basically taking care of the daily operations procedures. So open store on time, get cashiers set up, balance tills, make change, verify money in safe, merchandise with planograms and flowcharts, running breaks and lunches, marketing your business to surrounding businesses, hitting projected sales, pick up after customers, set up and break down props for customers, tear down store at end of season. Ive learned in the past year that you really have got to sort your store priorities, and to hire more qualified candidates when fulfilling a seasonal job. The management team that I had was decent but not great. I believe in helping people obtain skills, so sometimes I overlook that they havent had prior experience if they talk and show confidence in themselves. The hardest part of the job is to work freight and have everything completly merchandised the way that corporate wants it. The most enjoyable part is being confident and passionate about the company and products we sell. I love upselling to people!!
