GE an innovative multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm, has an opening for a Structural Engineer in the New York City area. GE works closely with developers, architects and owners from around the Northeast and Middle Atlantic States region on a variety of engineering projects, with a focus on industrial, retail and office, and multi-family residential facilities and sustainable high performance designs.
We are seeking several structural engineers with a minimum of five years of experience to work on all phases of design of buildings and related structures, facilitate in direct assistance in the analysis, design and drafting of different building type structures. The candidates must have experience with structural engineering with various materials; including: concrete, steel, masonry and wood, etc. emphasis should be on civil/structural design with a focus in the analysis of steel, concrete, wood and masonry. Experience with slab and floor system design, column design, wall design, foundation design including piles and pile cap design and different types of bulkheads. Structural and bridge design projects performing routine structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation or marine type structures.
Specifically, the candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and demonstrate that they have the requisite progressive experience desired. Practical “hands-on” experience is required, however, the successful candidate must also be a team player who is a self-starter and must possess good written and communicative skills to work within our close environment. P.E. license would be preferable or the ability to obtain one in the near future is preferred.
