Productive yet fun work place and team.
Sales assistant (Current Employee), Bluewater – May 16, 2013
A typical day at work would be dealing with public in a polite manner and providing good customer satisfaction.
My day also consists of tidying and organising the work place so it is pleasing to the eye and safe.
Also my typical day at work consists of selling products to the costumers.
I find my co workers very supportive and fun to work with. They, – more... as well as myself, are team players.
The most enjoyable part of my job is having a costumer being very happy with the costumer service and when they comment on your good work. Also I enjoy working with my collegues as we have the right amount of fun yet productive working. I feel very supported. – less

I learnt many forms of management techniques disiplinary procedures through hands on experience, managing business through kpis and profit and loss reports. – more... I learnt about controlling the business by managing controllable costs to save money. – less

Great work place but staff are not treated very well
supervisor (Current Employee), Lincolnshire – May 9, 2013
Pros: discount and borrowing
Cons: staff and customers are treated unfairly
Been working at Game for the past 5 years or so and in that time i have seen a few changes. i worked in a gamestation store and that was amazing they treated staff like they where humans and not robots and had decent hours for staff, now game has taken over hours have been cut and staff are managed out of the stores if they dont do well with figures, – more... and you are expected to work to deadlines that can never be reached due to being understaffed – less

Smart worker who enjoys team work and also good when working as an individual
Distribution Clerk (Former Employee), Greenstone Moddernfontein – May 7, 2013
Pros: free lunches
Cons: long hours
When bussines in running good i get bored when there is nithing to do because the only reason you are at work is to push the production. What I have learned with working with many people is that people have many ways of viewing things so working with people you must have patiency as well as a good understanding, seriously the most enjoyable partof the – more... day is when target has been reach and the job is done. – less

Great place to start a carrer
Store Manager (Current Employee), Basingstoke – April 21, 2013
Pros: great opportunities for advancement
Cons: long hours to travel to high turnover stores
At Game I worked my way up from a Sales Assistant to the Store Manager.
I have learned key customer service skills, along with team management and
team building skills. I spent a lot of my time training staff, which has given me great
training and people skills. As a Store Manager, I was very involved in my store’s
general operations including merchandising, – more... time management, training and payroll. – less

Excellent and fun place to work for anyone with a passion for gaming
Senior Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Hull – April 3, 2013
Pros: discount on everything in store!
Cons: a lot of unpaid hours demanded of you.
After working with GAME for 8 years, it was always fun and even though this is a general retail job, each day always felt different and brought new and interesting challenges.
The stores I worked in always had great management teams which were friendly and easy to approach and I have made some friends I will keep for life as a result of being employed – more... by GAME. – less

Great people to work with!
Deputy Manager (Current Employee), Aldershot – January 17, 2013
Pros: employee discount, borrowing policy.
Cons: long hours, out of hours, weekend work.
I have loved my time at Game. I met some fantastic people who have not only helped me develop in my role, but also as a person. These people are what make Game a special place to work for. The work environment can be really fun and motivational. Yes, there are hard times, and work can be pressing, but receiving gratification from management and customers – more... is very rewarding. Whether it be a simple "thank you", or a "well done", it can make the difference! The hardest part is definately being given too much task and the expectancy of all staff. Everyone works like crazy to produce amazing figures, keep the store running in good quality and to ensure that they all do their best. Sometimes it is pushed onto them that they need to do more, and I have to stress that they do a fantastic job as it is. But being fantastic people, they will still push themselves to do better. I am proud of working with/for such a fantastic set of people. – less

Hard work but good fun
Sales Assistant (Former Employee), Eastleigh – January 17, 2013
Pros: good discounts!
Cons: sales targets
I really enjoyed working at GAME. There is always something to be doing so your never sat around bored or looking for jobs to do.
The staff and management are very friendly and fun to work with, so the time flies whilst your on shift!
I'd say the hardest part of the job is reaching the sales targets you are given, but it is always fun to make it into – more... a competition and see how much you can achieve :) – less
