Do you work at GameStop? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?
Any advice for someone trying to get in?

What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at GameStop?
What do you like best about working at GameStop? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

Is there an age requirement for working at Gamestop? I've heard 16, I've heard 17, and I've heard 18. If anybody could clear this up I would greatly appreciate it!

If you clicked here expecting the true reason why Gamestop gives so few working hours to its associates... sorry I don't have that answer. I, too, want an answer. I have worked at other retail stores and have also not received enough hours, but not to the extreme extent of Gamestop. One week after Black Friday and my hours have been cut to nonexistent. I have had to live at a homeless shelter because I can't gain enough money between several retail jobs to survive on. It is despicable and there's no excuse for the way corporate treats us. The store manager has had to work to the bone, often times for more than 24 hours straight or several weeks without a single day off. And yet we have come out on top at times in terms of our percentages for subscriptions and reserves. Our reward was to have our hours cut.
This is a terrible company to work for and I look forward to the New Year when I will have the chance to pursue another job.

Ok first off, I'm a long-haired guy who is particularly interested in guitar, my band and trying to be successful etc. However to get the things i need i have to work for my equipment and needs before i get things rolling with my band. So i figured i needed to get a job, i applied everywhere and never got a call back, so i dressed nice, pulled my hair back and kept it neat, greeted the manager of a local game stop.
(I figured since ive loved video games since i was a little kid i would be perfect for the job and if given the job i would work efficiently at keeping it)
However its still in the season and I'm not too sure if I'm only seasonal help. I started about a week ago and find all the people i work with to be really awesome and friendly, i can be myself around them and work just as easily. Ive been on top of things as far as keeping customers satisfied and letting them know the prices of things and latest games that are coming out as well as info to whats good and whats not. However my thought is that I'm going to be laid off after the season is over. I hope it dosent come to that because the only thing im not good at is the register yet. i don't know game stops system so im trying to get as much time with that in as possible.
Anyone think I can make it? I understand its not the best job but its the only one that has taken me other then under the table jobs that i had family help me get in that didn't work out well.

Ive gone to the Hyannis store atleast 20 times in the past 3 months and ask do they have any jobs..the manager said no'I wear a shirt and tie when ever I go there for a job and stil every time..No we dont have anything" The Funny thing about it is a few weeks ago the manager hired a guy that dresses up as a girl lol now that was Funny" this person was a dry Queen! now that tells you what he,s Looking for. I think' thats poor Managment" he,d rather hire a transexual instead of a shirt and tie person. I dont' think' thats cool for Kids' You be the judge of this One! I wish I can leave my name but I dont want to risk the chance of some day working there'

does anyone else think that gamestop is a rip off like I do? for example they will sell you an original XboX for $60 but they will only pay $10 if you want to sell them one. That is an outrageous difference !!!

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at GameStop?
Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?
What is a typical day in the life of an employee at GameStop?
