complete management overhaul needed.
current employee (Current Employee) –  Iola, KSNovember 24, 2016
When gates owned this company it was a good place to work. Since it has been sold not so much! The management and HR is very into screwing people over. If you ever have a job injury they do little to take care of you and your days are numbered. The employees are great the management needs a complete overhaul. Iola,ks and it's employees need to wake up and maybe get a union or someone to represent them because HR and MANAGEMENT does not.
Pros
Nice employees
Cons
bad management, benefit decline, bad working conditions.

Temporary Assignment (Former Employee) –  Denver, COSeptember 20, 2016
The management over this position is the worst. If you like walking on eggshells and being overloaded with work, go for it! Stay away!

Bandless Shift Facilitator (Current Employee) –  Siloam Springs, ARSeptember 11, 2016
Good company not great but good. Good work life balance. Onlu con wa too much family was in all upper management positions which would cause problems with favoritism and inconsistent treatment of employees.

The company screwed the employees
Manager Computer Operations (Former Employee) –  Denver, COJuly 29, 2016
The company outsourced the development of a new manufacturing system. When it failed they turned to the employees to repair the system. After working the employees to death for almost a year the system actually functioned. They then outsourced IT to IBM and the employees were let go.

Stay Away. Stay far away

Do not recommend
Machinist (Former Employee) –  Versailles, MOJune 26, 2016
Pay for machinist is sub par for the area and machines are poorly maintained. Not a lot of room to advance in the company. Not climate controlled. If you do something that a member of management or someone they like doesn't agree with or speak up for yourself or other consider your days numbered. Health insurance becomes worse every year.
Pros
Some fun people to work with until they get picked off one by one for petty reasons.
Cons
A short list...almost everything.

Good, Stable Company
Payroll Specialist (Former Employee) –  Denver, COApril 18, 2016
I was able to come in a do my work and leave it there at the end of the day. Low stress but also not a lot of room for advancement in my particular department. Healthy environment to come to work in everyday and I loved the fact that they provided an Eco pass at no cost to me. Overall a solid company to work for.
Pros
Gym access, eco pass
Cons
No room for growth, one-dimensional work load

Typical day at Gates - Hebron, KY
Warehouse Picker (Former Employee) –  Hebron, KYJanuary 4, 2016
The people who work in the warehouse are very nice and are willing to help when you need it. This does not transfer from the office to the warehouse workers. The management team is abusive in how they speak to people and forget about ever getting ahold of the human resources manager because she never answers her phone, rarely associates with anyone in the warehouse and is in the back pocket of the distribution center manager. The facility plan always changes from one day to the next. You can not count on what time you will go home at night. You might have to start work at 4:00 a.m. in the morning and work 12 hours for the first few days. Then you might have to work 8 to 10 the next few days. No consistency in planning. The turnover is high and the moral is very low. No support for the employees and no advancement. The management team hires outside the facility and does not invest in the employees currently working there.
Pros
Good healthcare benefits and paid vacation and sick time.
Cons
Management does not invest resources to develope the employees other than required safety training.

Great way to gain experience
Marketing Intern (Current Employee) –  Denver, CONovember 16, 2015
Learned a great deal about how to stay on task and meet deadlines. Learned how to manage my own timeline and schedule and how to take things into my own hands. A great position to gain experience in being assertive and proactive. Truly lives by "you get out of it what you put into it". The more effort you put into this position the more experienced you will feel.

Stocker/Receiver (Former Employee) –  Iola, KSJune 23, 2015
Management had no clue what was going on down on the floor. If an idea looked good on paper then it was implemented.
Typical day involved receiving inbound stock and order pulling when needed. Coworkers were pleasant for the most part, there were too many 18-21 year olds that thought they knew everything. Hardest part was getting the workload of 10 done with 5 people. Most enjoyable was adding to my forklift experience.
Pros
Ease of work
Cons
Constant switching of healthcare providers
