A typical day, you're immediately thrown into the back to be blindly lead through the order of how you do everything, filling you with everything all at once. You can be called back and forth from dishes to going up front to helping the other workers catch up on orders.
If you're new a lot of old workers will more than likely whisper about how awful you're doing but smile to your face and say it gets easier. One shift leader is gossiping about her personal problems, super emotional (crazy unprofessional) and taking it out on the newbie or everyone.
I learned a lot about working on a register and how to make pizza correctly while learning how to make dough and to clean the store.
Management, not much I could say, honestly loved two or three of my shift leaders because they had true hearts and really worked for the job and did the right thing but others.. I was ashamed to work with completely irrational people who took out outside problems on everyone else. There were good people I will admit.
My co-workers. Same with management. I loved working and having good shifts with people who willingly did their job and wanted to be there but we had a few high school kids working there as a first job who wanted to do nothing but talk about school and life ruining problems. While slacking off and letting orders pile up.You had to cover for them and do things they refused to if you wanted to catch up on everything so you're not behind. One, didn't want to clean the salad bar or bust for fear of food getting under her freshly done nails. While we had good workers who tried really hard, there was a few that I knew WAY too much about their personal life than I saw fit for a professional relationship, when we weren't even friends outside of the job.
The hardest part of the job is dough in my opinion, you're timed and each batch doesn't turn out the same. It smells amazing but having to heave each package of dough on the counter and than the dough machine out to be washed.
The most enjoyable part of the job is working with new people who have great hearts and work really hard at what they do and getting to interact with customers. The job it's self was really good, fast paced, and fun.
Being my first job it did give me good experience on dealing with different kinds of people with a smile on my face.
