About GAYLORD TEXAN
From Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash to Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, the halls of this former church have heard some of country music's greatest talents. Built in 1892, the Ryman Auditorium hosted the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. It is a National Historic Landmark that today seats about 2,300 and hosts a variety of concerts, including bluegrass, – more... classical, gospel, jazz, and rock. The performance hall operates as a museum with self-guided tours available during the day. Ryman Hospitality Partners owns this venue, as well as the Grand Ole Opry's current Nashville location, The Opry House. – less
