Good place to learn 3rd party collections
Customer Service/ Collection Agent (Former Employee), San Antonio, TXFebruary 16, 2015
Pros: works with your schedule
Cons: working nights 2 days a week
Job could have been way better starting with the training classes.
They put you on the floor when your not ready. I learned third party
collections for the first time im comeing from first party collections.
Management needs to make sure agents are giveing the best tools
to succeed skip tracing, acces to credit bureau reports, and fresh
accounts not ones that has been worked to the ground. Co-workers
was great to work with and helpfull. Most enjoyable part Lunch.

collections, daily and monthly goals
Manager/ Collector (Former Employee), knoxville tnFebruary 13, 2015
Pros: ability to make a lot of money
Cons: stress, upper management had their picks and would brush off the ones that did not make it to his click
typical day at work could be happy or sad according to how the call center environment was set that day.
The learning process is great. the trainee are mainly trained by the tenured collectors and this helps with felling more at ease
Management need to focus on communication and how to properly discipline one.
co-workers are great
trying to obtain goals that are set a little high

Good pay, but bad work environment
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), Copperas Cove, TXFebruary 12, 2015
Pros: good hours and possible advancement
Cons: treated like you are not needed only a person to fill a spot
working here is all about the customer, ie, the company contracting out to gc services. there is little concern for the employee and only about meeting the client expectations.

Bill Collector (Former Employee), Killen, TxFebruary 10, 2015
At times it was stressful, but other times it was humorous. You have to learn how to handle certain situations when dealing with customers and payment issues. With that job you can not let the customers make you feel discourage about your job and you have to be able to maintain your composer at all times.

A Productive Day at GC Services
Auditor / Collections Representative (Current Employee), Knoxville, TNFebruary 5, 2015
Sign into computer, get necessary paperwork to begin the job readiness, log into the system, start making phone calls trying to contact customers, receive incoming calls as well, and attempt to collect on a debt owed by the customer. Its fun competing with coworkers to try to get the most dollar amount collected and tools used. The hardest part of the job is when the computer system fails and you can't make your money. Most enjoyable part of the job is having fun with your coworkers.

Account Representative (Former Employee), Copperas CoveFebruary 5, 2015
Pros: hours
Cons: pay is horrible
The hours vary so if you are looking for something that works around your schedule, this is not it. Managers don't help when you need it and the pay is horrible.

GC was a great place to work. My co workers were friendly and we worked well together. The only thing I had a problem with was the work hours. I work a minimum 50 hours a week, I was always tired. we were only allowed one day off.

GREAT COMPANY THAT WAS EXPANDING WITH NEW ACCOUNTS
Customer Service Representative/Collections (Former Employee), Knoxville, TNFebruary 1, 2015
YOU WORKED WITH GOOD EQUIPMENT IN A COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE. THE MANAGERS WERE ALWAYS THERE TO HELP OR OFFER ADVISE. YOU WOULD TAKE INBOUND AND OUTBOUND CALLS AND USE DATA ENTRY TO DOCUMENT THE CALLS. I LEARNED ABOUT THE COMPANIES AND THE GOODS THEY OFFERED. THE HARDEST PART OF THE JOB WAS LEARNING THE DIFFERENT SOFTWARE PROGRAMS THAT WAS USED IN DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS. THE COMPANY OFFERED HELPFUL CLASSES TO HELP WITH THE PROCESS. I ENJOYED THE CO-WORKERS AND THE ACTIVITIES AND CONTESTS THE COMPANY WOULD OFFER.

Houston's HGO Treasury department
Reconciliations Clerk (Former Employee), Houston, TXJanuary 25, 2015
Pro's:
1) Good place to work if you can't find a relevant job anywhere else.
2) Lots of overtime (whether you like it or not)
3) If Management likes you will get promoted.

Con's:
1) Below average pay and expensive health insurance.
2) 2003 Excel based, mom & pop accounting and no one in management has even a college degree.
3) Tiny 14 inch monitor guaranteed to make you put on glasses.
4) Managment play favourites to extremes.
5) Smelly & dirty restrooms.
6) Small break-room filled with rowdy crowd most of the time.
7) Management is Cheap and makes you spend your own money for team-events.
8) Very high turn-over rate.
9) Hires almost anyone.

Verdict:
It's a joke of a company and only find employment there if you desperately need a job otherwise keep on looking.

Account Representative (Former Employee), Lansing, MIJanuary 18, 2015
Collection of driver responsibility fees. Management was not the best, but it was somewhat rewarding helping others get solutions to their responsibility to the State of Michigan.
