Gemini Real Estate Advisors is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and create a new department in a fast paced, rewarding environment. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading, commercial real estate and hospitality management company with a portfolio of 8 hotels. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for activities across our hotel properties and corporate office. This position reports to the President & CEO.

The Director of Human Resources will:

  • Provide an issue free work environment through motivation, support, empowerment and development of all staff
  • Ensure compliance throughout each area of Human Resources
  • Work with senior management to create consistency across the company
  • Review current Human Resources practices, working to improve and streamline policies and procedures
  • Update and achieve the same standard for all employee handbooks
  • Recruit, interview, and assist with the training of staff members
  • Create and maintain training plans for all levels of staff at each hotel and the corporate office
  • Provide general leadership and guidance to senior management in the corporate office and the general managers at our hotels
  • Manage twice yearly performance reviews and employee tracking for the corporate office
  • Build the Human Resources Department by hiring a Coordinator of Human Resources
  • Work with the Coordinator to manage benefits that include health and dental/vision coverage, commuter benefit program, 401K and flexible spending
  • In conjunction with the Coordinator, oversee and run payroll functions for the hotels and corporate office

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in hospitality
  • Comprehensive knowledge of management strategies and techniques
  • Familiarity with legal and contractual agreements
  • The ability to work with senior management to create and manage budgets
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills in a variety of different settings
  • Desire and ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact, collaborate and communicate with colleagues, whilst being able to work independently
  • Meticulous attention to detail, whilst multi-tasking across a variety of projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
