It was like being in the fire service, medical field and safety department a very exciting job. The management was very
supportive and understanding. The hardest part of the job
was when we had to close down I wanted to finish my
career with General Dynamics for at least 10 more years.
It was very hard to find a job with the opportunities G.D.

supervising my crew and seeing them perform excellent.
I enjoyed the friendships form with other G.D. staff over

Great place to work and to learn more about what the company main goals and objectives are. Very relax work enviroment and great teamwork skills are needed to be successful with this company. Great supervisors!

Worked in Warehouses and shipping and receiving departments.Also received and shipped product that was manufactured in the facility. Was salaried person with a material handler job with forklift license and also certified in hazardous material transport and RCRA training.Alwas had a good relationship with employees and management.I enjoyed the job and – more...  hardly ever had a bad day at work. – less

Continual layoffs tiring. There is some drama on the project I work which causes a great deal of problems relating to the quality and the efficiency of the software development process.

GD BIW, is a stable work environment with good benefits, very dynamic, rarely a dull moment. With such a large, older worth workforce there is little room or opportunity for career &/or wage advancement.

• Read blueprints, tech manuals and part list.
• Made temporary plates to fix job.
• TGI, SSP Standards.
• Cleaned welds for inspections.

Challanges, problem solving everyday. Flex Hours, Benefits, Learned new supply chain management processes. Meeting a large diverse of people.

I was assigned sites that I would report to during the week and work or repair fiche film equipment- coms, dupilcators,processors
or related equip.

I learned how to:
Work with seasoned techs, they taught me a lot of things in the repair of equipment that only time and expeirence would teach and individual

Management:
Was good, found out that management – more...  styles were very much like the military standards only with a budjet.

Co-Workers:
Learned a lot form these individuals, Dependable and True

Hardest part of the job:
Getting up any time during the night to go out and repair a peice of equipment since we had 24hr contracts for alot of the costumer base

The most enjoyable part of the Job:
The pay check and the benifits – less

A general day consists of people management, reporting progress, and customer management.

Excellent support, new design tools, good training, much overtime
