Residential Assistant, Batavia, NY - February 3, 2016
Working for the ARC was a rewarding job. I learned that just because someone has a disability do not make them any different than myself. All of the individuals I would with were some of the best people anyone could ask to work with and work for. Some days were very challenging when some of the individuals had behaviors such as, screaming, hitting, spitting and so on. There were days when your shift was over you were exhausted from the challenges of the day. The best part of my job there was seeing the joy in someones eyes because of something you did for them, something as small as just sitting and talking to them.
