I applied for a position and was called to interview in Brooklyn, new York. I met with the Vice President, Jack Brown. The interview went exceptionally well and the human resources person was told to start the process. I filled out a very long application and was informed there would be a criminal background check. I figured, no problem; I have a certificate of relief for one felony I recieved over 25 years ago. I was called the next day by human resources to fax my social security card, drivers license and I also faxed my MSW/CASAC papers. A day or two later, I was called by human resources and told, I would not be eligible because of the felony. I have worked hard since recieving the felony to improve the quality bof my life. I recieved a certificate of relief in 1992. How can I be an example for who I teach if I am feeling like a criminal once again? Please help me understand.
