Fast past and having a good eye is basically what you'll need to work here.
Inspector (Former Employee), Birmingham, AL – June 16, 2014
Pros: time went by fast and i enjoyed my co-workers.
Cons: it was a seasonal job.
I really enjoyed working there. I basically inspected pieces that had to be a-1. If the pieces where bent or had scratches on them I had to put it in a different pile. The paste was fast so if I let a lot of pieces go by without checking them then I would get in trouble.
Great benefits. Hours can vary between 40-70 per week. I have very fun and hard working co-workers. My immediate boss is very nice and reliable. I work second shift and part of third shift. I am looking for better pay and hours that I can see my family more.
Receiving Clerk (Former Employee), McCalla, AL – February 26, 2014
Pros: great supervisors and work environment
Cons: upper management slow to make 90 day temp workers permanent
I loved working at Gestamp. The only thing that was lacking was the temp services. There should be a definite fire or hire after 90 days. Instead they will keep you on even after the initial 90 days as temp as long as you want but the temps get mistreated per the temp agencies not willing to provide that many benefits. I feel I would still work there – more... if they would have made me permanent even though it was not in my line of training. It had a great supervisor team that cared for the employees. – less

Line Worker (Former Employee), Mason, MI – August 29, 2013
Pros: enjoyable work place
Cons: certain supervisor
I really enjoyed working at Gestamp. I learned a lot from this company, regarding machinery. The management was real cool and i loved all my co-workers. The hardest part of the job was dealing with a certain supervisor. The most enjoyable part of my job was just the everyday experiences.
Quality Control Inspector (Current Employee), McCalla, AL – February 6, 2013
Pros: nice environment.
Cons: not enough hours. raises are slow
I came to the job 10 months ago as a temp. I work in quality control therefore getting hired through the company is difficult. The work conditions are pretty safe and the management is fine. I'm looking for a job where I can earn a better living.
