HELP US HELP TV
We are building a platform to help broadcasters and brands take advantage of “second screen” experiences. With our technology, content owners will have a simple way to make the phone, tablet, or computer by your side give you meaningful, valuable content while you watch TV.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
We’re looking for a back-end developer who is adept at architecting, building, managing, and integrating databases and systems. Experience with mobile is necessary, and web services a plus. We’re not dogmatic about languages or technology platforms, but are looking for someone who can guide us to smart early technical choices that will scale well with the product. We’re looking for someone able to work nights and weekends to start (keep that other job of yours), with the hope you can become full time if all works out.
You like to attack big problems piece by piece. You like elegant solutions. You like to build things dynamically. You like the pace of start-ups. You like keeping technical debt down. Having good test coverage helps you sleep at night. You like to build things with the user in mind. You like the feeling of getting stuff done.
You are humble, self-aware, and maybe most importantly, you like to laugh.
You will get compensated in cash with the intention of moving to cash and equity as we build trust and confidence in each other.
We are a team from MIT and built Super PAC App (superpacapp.org), a mobile app that brought transparency to the 2012 U.S. presidential campaigns. With Super PAC App, users could hold their phones up to the TV while watching a political ad to quickly receive objective, third-party information about that commercial. The app was featured by ABC News, TechCrunch and CNN, among others.
Intermission is over. It’s time for Act Two. Our path forward is coming from the data we gathered, lessons we learned, and relationships we built.
Our background is in business development and product development. We have as formal advisors folks from MIT Media Lab, Harvard, and a host of informal advisors through our personal and professional networks.
