Immediate Senior-Level Opportunity for a Hands-On, Experienced Environmental Director with a Top Midstream Natural Gas and Oil Company - Dallas, TX Area
The Environmental Director will manage the environmental program for the Company, and direct the department’s liaison with regulatory agencies. This individual is expected to provide expertise on environmental issues to determine potential impacts to the Company, as well as technical consultation and guidance to management, engineering and field locations. In this role, the Director will develop and manage compliance programs for air quality, emissions testing, waste, water and remediation, and represent the Company at various industry functions and organizations. This position is also responsible for reviewing proposed legislation for applicability, advising management on best course of action, and monitoring engineering projects to determine air quality permit applicability requirements and environmental cost estimates.
The Director will consult on permitting options to determine best course of action, and then prioritize and coordinate consultant schedules for outsourced projects. Other responsibilities include: Overseeing review of permit applications for submittal to state agencies, reviewing Title V monitoring and compliance reports for management signature, and recommending preventative and corrective action to ensure compliance. In addition, the E.D. will direct emissions inventory process to ensure accurate and timely reporting, spill prevention, countermeasures and control (SPCC) planning for waste water, required spill reporting between Company and regulatory agencies, and remediation projects with third party contractors/consultants on as needed basis.
The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of direct experience in the natural gas gathering and processing industry. Relevant experience in energy industry specializing in environmental regulation will also be strongly considered. This position will manage at least 3 direct reports, so viable candidates must have previous experience managing, mentoring, and grooming a team.
Candidates must also have in-depth knowledge of EPA test methods applicable to oil and gas. You must also have a minimum 4-year college degree, preferably in a technical field, MS degree is a huge plus. Additionally, you must be highly-technical, and have strong skills with MS Word and Excel, as well as with emissions quantification software, including GRI GlyCalc, E&PTanks, and Tanks 4.0 experience.
