It was my workplace so I could make it how I felt it needed to be to make my customers feel comfortable
Store Manager (Former Employee), Beeville, TX – July 13, 2013
Pros: i got to set up my store to make it my own
Cons: change in upper managemnt caused me to lose my job
I would come to work, set the place up for the day..coffee, cookies and etc. I got to create ads on Craigslist to bring in customers, which was my favorite part When someone cam in, I would test and weigh jewelry and then quote the customer with a buying price based off the NY stock. The hardest part would be the testing, because sometimes you could – more... get fooled. – less
Unit Director, customer service rep, store manger (Former Employee), Livingston, TX – May 21, 2013
Enjoyed meeting new people and gaining new friends, gaining more job skills when it came to serving the people, and dealing with such a large money making job, also learning how to market yurself and your purpose.
Manager (Current Employee), Houston, TX – December 3, 2012
Pros: growth, development, reward
Gold & Silver Buyers Inc. has been an amazing opportunity, not only for growth and personal development, but the privilege to work with wonderful people. It's a fast paced and productive environment with a laid back culture that allows for creativity and innovation. It is personally fulfilling to work here and to know my skills are utilized to it's – more... full extent, it is also very challenging and I get to learn new things every day and push myself to new limits. I highly recommend this company to any talented people looking to expand their horizons. – less
Steady workplace, awesome customers and employees.
Gold Buyer/Part Time (Current Employee), Houston, TX – June 19, 2012
Pros: great opportunity to make money
Cons: no breaks your not allowed to leave the store unless going to the bank, slower parts of the year when the business is down/work on commission
First open store, count the money, and get everything in order. If we don't have enough money head to the bank. I work alone so I manage myself unless the owner drops in and checks on things otherwise it's just me handling all transaction and having great customer service with customers making sure they have a great experience in the store to bring – more... in more customers. This company is all about profit, that's what is fun about it, its a challenge and goal for you to bring in customers to make lots of money. Hardest part of this job is sometimes people do not want to sell and you have to bargain with then also the down part of the day when it start to become slow. I love all my co-workers when i get to see them great people to be around. I have learned a lot, many customer skills, how to test gold and silver, and to run a store by myself!! – less
