Difficult, hot and life consuming but $$$$$
Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Fall River, MAFebruary 20, 2017
GMB is a very fast-paced, high stress and detail oriented career choice.
All shifts (outside of sanitation) are mandatory 12 hour days with overtime rates starting after 40 hours/week. Pay rate is phenomenal but the work can be difficult and overtime is mandatory.
There are scheduled "days off'" but these will never hold as GMB is a production based business and you will be asked or forced to work on those days frequently; however management is VERY flexible and willing to work with you for requested days.
Benefits are so-so but better than nothing.

Overall impression - Great money, you will easily take home close to $1,000/week BUT YOU WILL WORK FOR IT!!
Pros
High pay

No life

Very good paying part time job for a student
Loader/Unloader (Current Employee) –  Fall River, MAMarch 24, 2016
Gold Medal Bakery offers a high hourly pay rate and a schedule that allows for students to be able to work part time while enrolled full time in school. By working here I learned a lot about working efficiently and the benefits of doing a job correctly the first time so that it does not need to be redone at a later time.

This is a good place to work if you are single and dont have kids. The money is good but working 12 hour days 5 days a week with no weekends or holidays off is alot to handle.

Company is a great company to work for. They pay well and the benefits are good. During a holiday week anything over 32 hours is considered time and a half. Plus they pay you 8 hours holiday pay in addition to your regular check.

not a horrible job if you dont have a life
Driver (Current Employee) –  elkridge mdMarch 30, 2013
the hours are long, the pay is poor for hours worked( to do the job properly you are looking at 50+ hours a week on the average minimum) the job itself is not that hard. of the two managers, one is as helpful as he can be, the other will tell you anything he thinks you want to hear, but wont actually do anything meaningful to address your concerns.
Pros
its a paycheck
Cons
forget enjoying said check

100 year old company that is good to work for
Route Driver (Current Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYJanuary 13, 2013
Good company to work for overall. Holiday pay is always paid promptly as is your pay. Weekly salary paycheck. The only downside would be is if you get a time consuming route it can work against you since it is a salaried position.
Pros
not very stressful, pay is never a problem
Cons
can be time consuming on a salary position
