Member of The Flying Dubs (Current Employee) –  Oakland, CAMarch 7, 2017
I've been fortunate enough to work for the NBA for the past 17 years as an entertainer. There is so much pre-work that goes into everything for the fans experience at a professional basketball game. We do not have a typical job, as entertainers. A lot of the work that we do, goes into developing a fantastic show for the spectators, while also remaining focused during the performance.
Pros
Attending NBA games, Traveling, Performing, networking, marketing, and enhancing social skills.
Cons

Game Experience (Current Employee) –  Oakland, CADecember 5, 2016
People don't like to leave their jobs when the team is good. So advancement is minimal. But it is a fun environment. You have to be able to work nights and weekends.

Fun & Demanding
Copywriter (Former Employee) –  Oakland, CAAugust 10, 2015
I'd work here again. It's great to be doing "work research" by watching games. Your target markets are literally fans.
The pay is on the very low-end, compare to agencies, but the trade-off is not having to ever put together pitch decks.
Pros
Tickets to games, occasional player interaction, lovely co-workers, you get to tell people you work for the Warriors
Cons
Long hours (relatively), communication is difficult, lots of politics and maneuvering

Ticket Operations Assistant (Current Employee) –  Oakland, CAJune 13, 2014
Working in my department is never consistent. One day we'll be swamped at work for 13 hours, the next day there will be absolutely nothing to do. Never any gray area! Paying attention to detail is key in operations, since finances are being handled. Management, for the most part, helps to develop employees. Organization-wide, there is an eclectic mix of employees, young and old, from all walks of life. The hardest part of the job is managing work with a healthy home life. The most enjoyable aspect is all that comes with working for a successful sports team.
Pros
Free tickets to games, half-day Fridays during offseason, cell phone stipend, Fsa
Cons
Long days during basketball season, no company 401K match, low pay
