Productive, Marketing, interact with customers
Salesman (Former Employee), Forney, TX – March 27, 2013
Pros: interact with customers and helping them
Cons: rarely any lunch breaks
I start my day by looking at my logs and updating my binder. I got everything ready for the day to be started. I was interactive with all my client's and new client's that walked in to see what we have to offer. I expressed the importance of health and fitness to all the clients, Sold corporate deals, and memberships. I enjoyed seeing the looks in my – more... clients faces when they signed up or reached there goals and continued to go further with there work outs. Knowing that I helped them change there lives made me happy. There were some hard days though when it was slow and your working long hours. But overall it was a great job to be at. – less

At will company doesn't give you security.
Manager, Childcare (Former Employee), Richland, WA – January 16, 2013
This at will company doesn't give you security. They can fire you for anything and do without warning. Most of the management is young and lets their emotions get the best of them thinking they need to get along with every

Great place to work and great staff!
Receptionist & tennis instructor (Former Employee), Douglasville, Ga – December 10, 2012
Pros: great work enviornment, great place to meet people and be a part in their life changes, flexible hours and the upper management is very approachable.
Cons: no benefits
I learned a lot about the fitness environment and how it can really make such a difference in peoples lives. The hardest part of my job was having to turn people down for financial reasons. The most enjoyable part of my job was hearing the positive feedback from our members about how much Golds Gym and their award winning staff helped them reach their – more... weight loss goals. I loved all my co-workers because they all had the same moral beliefs as I did and were very easy to get along with. They all made the work place a great environment. A typical day at work for me would be answering phones, greeting guests, transferring calls, making copy's, filing papers, making calls, organizing, and doing all the items involved on the daily checklist. – less

A very close knit work environment with a lot of employee and member interaction.
Front Desk Receptionist (Former Employee), Boise, ID – November 12, 2012
At Golds Gym a typical days work included filing paperwork, setting up appointments for the membership sales team and trainers, taking phone calls regarding billing, reservations, information questions, and complaints. I learned how to talk on the phone very well and conduct business over the phone. The hardest part of my job was dealing with angry – more... members over billing concerns. The most enjoyable part of my job was when I was able to remedy the members concerns and then build a relationship with them. – less

A fun place to work and to make money.
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Arlington, TX – August 6, 2012
Pros: long lunches and being able to workout.
Cons: working at your own pace.
A typical day was looking forward to going to work, this was a gym that ive been to for 6 years, working with people I already know very well and being in a comfortable workplace was a good day. The management was good except for the owner, he wasnt financially good, he made alot of people mad, my co-workers were awesome to work with. there wasnt a – more... hard part of the day but the most enjoyable part was being there. – less

Healthy Life Styles
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Woodstock, GA – July 12, 2012
Pros: free gym membership, great kids, great friendships
Cons: angry customers, not spending enough time with the kids!
On a day to day basis parents would bring the children into the Kids Club center at Golds Gym so the parents could work out. During a typical work day I would start with all of my paper work, excell spread sheets, reciepts, hand outs, etc. Then my employees and I would play with the children. We would have musical chairs, dance offs, Wii battles, Playground – more... time, Movie time, Face paint, and much more. The management changed frequently at Golds Gym, but was typically always very well kept and minimal changes. Our employees were absolutely amazing people who cared so much to provide a fun time for the children of the Kids Club. The hardest part of the job would be paging a parent when the 2 hour time limit was up. Because the Kids Club was not a technical 'Day Care' if a child was in the Club for even 1 minute the time limit the gym could have gotten a fine. The most enjoyable part of the job was helping the children realize and understand that sitting in front of the TV is boring, and that running around having fun and getting exercise in was a million times better! – less
