The facility, part of the HCA family of for-profit hospitals, administers care through campuses in San Jose (the main campus) and Los Gatos, California. Good Samaritan Hospital provides general acute care as well as a host of tertiary services that include cardiology and cardiovascular surgery; oncology; obstetrics and gynecology; and psychiatry (both inpatient and outpatient care). The main campus hospital has some 408 patient beds and 600 physicians, and the Los Gatos outpatient and short-stay facility houses approximately 100 beds.
Each year Good Samaritan admits 17,000 patients (excluding newborns) and handles more than 93,500 outpatient visits. More than 4,000 deliveries and 8,000 surgeries are performed annually in 18 surgical suites.
In addition to being a community hospital, Good Samaritan is a world-class academic medical center affiliated with both USC and UCLA Schools of Medicine. To cater to the diverse urban population the hospital system serves, Good Samaritan's medical staff and employees speak more than 54 languages/dialects.
