I learned a lot about trauma working at Good Shepherd and Children Family Services. My co-workers have always been an amazing support system. However, some of the direct supervisors are not as emotionally supportive, making it difficult to ask for help and leading to burn out. On the other hand the upper management is very accessible and willing to discuss any issues that you may have. There are agency vehicles that you are able to check out rather than adding miles onto your own car. There are also regular small perks provided, such as ordering in for trainings, all staff appreciation days, etc.
