The management in Goodman houston is very poor;I feel for those who consider them as great company are fooling the public;they depends on temporary employees to do there work and some will even work for two years as temporary employees, later on they layoff everyone;Goodman lack of ethics and management.I was really excited when I left this company.

Good Learning experience
Internship (Former Employee), Houston, TX – February 28, 2013
Pros: work time 7 am to 3:30, with friday half days
Cons: it was intership job only
creating routings, operation procedure for line, and daily review charts.
Learned 5's, step 1 of six sigma, and moving assembly line between plants
very good management, and very well organized
coworkers very helpful and educating about manufacturing shop floor
hardest part of the job was explaining procedure because not all shop workers spoke english
most – more... enjoyable part was implementing 5's program and see the difference in the work place – less

Too much favoritism
Inspector (Former Employee), Fayetteville, TN – February 15, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: miserable enviroment
Miserable assembly line working conditions.Lazy forklift operators paid more than assembly line employee's who work much harder.Supervisors give easy jobs to people who kiss up to them. You bid up to a better job then train and become good at it just to lose it (and the extra pay)when production slows at end of year. You go back to horrible insulation – more... jobs, your hours then get cut then you get laid off and lose more money including holiday pay that you worked harder for than most of the lazy slobs who get it.Dept. heads train their kids to do jobs instead of promoting more qualified employee's(the lab for example). – less

Not worth the ending stress of being fired for false accusations
worked in various (Former Employee), Houston, TX – November 26, 2012
Pros: ok benefits
Cons: have no concern for employees
I worked for this company for almost five years and gave everything I had to this company. One month and a few days from five years they decided to terminate me and use my absence (not technically a absence) as a excuse when I was being sent home due to the lack of work. They even had me working many positions from leak tester, coil repair, bender and – more... the list goes on. They fired me and made me look bad instead of just owning up. You would think they would feel bad after letting you go but then they kick you in the rear with the lies. Five years and a bad reference. There is a man upstairs and this business won't get to far too long. I understand the economy went bad and making $17 a hour I was one of many they let go. It is no secret why but why lie. The sad thing is this company has no care for their employess, had they been concerned they would have thought about all the people they let go and their families. Please do not trust this company and think you can make career with them. They are hiring people and when they get to a certain pay they terminate and find someone else through the temp. agency. – less

Hostile work enviroment
Maintenance (Former Employee), Dayton Tn – September 23, 2012
Pros: decent pay
Cons: hostile work enviroment
The Plant Manager is a punk. This company lies about thier product, they say that thier product has less than a half an ounce of leak rate per year, however the test equipment can not test that low. The only direct hires are maintenance and supervision everyone else are temps. there is no job security, they lay off regularly with the trend in production. – more... they are a poor company to work for, they yell at thier employees to motivate them very hostile, they threaten to fire you if you do not perform at the level they want. this enviroment comes from the plant manager who got the job due to nepotism. – less

About Goodman MFG
Lean Technician (Former Employee), Houston Texas – September 4, 2012
Pros: money, advancement, training
Cons: location and work life balance
Nothing is typical about an average work day , you take what you did yesterday and you do it better today.
Please see resume for all training received.
Management would always push you to improve and move forward and upward. continuous improvement everyday.
All co - workers vary. For the most part very team ordinated and held a constant level of professionalism.
Going – more... home is the hardest part of the job and pushing yourself to do more with less time.
Learning something new each day and developing new ways to do my part as a team player to help the company reach that world class standard. – less

RUN!!!
Business Operations Analyst (Former Employee), Houston, TX – June 5, 2012
Cons: pay, benefits, management communication and leadership, morale
I worked here for a year. I worked in the company owned distribution group. This was the worst job I had ever had in my 20 year career. The management team doesn't communicate or work together internally so they are worthless at leadership. Pay and benefits are below average. I met some good people while there but they are also in new jobs and glad – more... to leave. – less
