Productive and fun workplace
Project Engineer / Project Manager (Former Employee), Chula Vista, CA – April 17, 2013
Goodrich is a great company to work for. Management has an open door policy, there was quite a bit of work to keep busy and productive, I interfaced with customers and coworkers internationally, and the people I worked with were helpful, understandable and great to work with.

Note: Goodrich was just bought out by UTC

A good place to work because of their philosophy
IT Business Analyst / Customer Support Rep (Current Employee), Chula Vista, CA – March 20, 2013
Pros: 9/80 work schedules and benefits
Cons: slowness in upgrading systems, mismanagement of the component design group
A typical day at work included troubleshooting customer problems, analyzing business processes, and providing LEAN solutions to improve those processes.

My management was adequate, and most of my co-workers were great, up until the time the company was bought out.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the customer service and working with an excellent – more... group of people.

The hardest part was watching seven years of hard work get dismantled when the company was bought out. – less

Very intelligent engineers. Corporate setting.
BSA UTC (Former Employee), Danbury, CT – February 12, 2013
Pros: they allowed me to learn on my own and expand my knowledge of sql, microsoft 2010 and streamline oracle 11.5.9 to be more productive to the company's needs.
Cons: has been recently aquired by utc, staff cutting is happening and will continue to happen.
I was involved with two implementations due to acquired companies in the ISR division. Because of Goodrich's unique product line, we tested the golden thread rule through out the implementations to streamline processes, to the limit.
Management is very high level and they do not get involved in the details, thus entrusting to the staff. This was good – more... to a point, till conflict arises.
Co-workers are really good people. I enjoyed my stay and with the people that I worked with.
The hardest part of my job was to get people to communicate to all, and to have the people feel valued by how they can resolve issues, not to be limited in just what they have been exposed too. Meaning look outside the box for understanding.
The most enjoyable part was the people that I worked with within the IT department at the Danbury location. – less

Division Controller (Former Employee), Arkadelphia, AR – February 5, 2013
Pros: helped start three businesses in arkansas.
Cons: great company with great management.
Financial responsibility for a business to produce jet aircraft parts. Developed the financial business case for the enterprise and implemented the financial plan and achieved profitability in three years.
Presented the the business case to the Goodrich Board of Directors and obtained $33M to spend on the project. Worked with the Arkansas Economic Development – more... Commission to help support/fund the project. – less

Production Support Specialist III (Former Employee), Riverside, CA – January 30, 2013
Pros: great people. decent pay. good learning environment. benefits.
Cons: no work life balance, personal agendas, political lean
Good people. Management style is very militant. Worked long hours problem solving. Sometimes there were dog and pony shows instead of real process improvement. Very capable people there waiting for an opportunity to use their talent fully. The hardest part of the job was motivating others to do the best thing for the business. The most enjoyable part – more... was interacting with good people who wanted to make a positive impact. – less

Productive work place and everyone is helpful
Accounts Receivables Clerk (Former Employee), Troy, OH – December 10, 2012
I was a summer employee who was asked to stay longer. I loved my job. A typical day consisted of applying payments and filing papers. I would shred and move files towards the end of the month. I also got fun little projects like making power-points and pasting address labels to letters. I learned a lot about money while working at this job. Management – more... was fantastic. Always helpful and patient. Co-workers were always there to answer my questions and help me understand exactly what I was doing. Hardest part about my job was not having an accounting background but with being a summer employee, I wasn't expected to. Most enjoyable part of the job is the friendships that you gain. I was the youngest person in my section so everyone was always watching me and making sure I was ok and having a good day. – less

Lead Mechanical Inspector 3 (Current Employee), Ithaca, NY – November 28, 2012
Pros: employee association events
Cons: small break room
Small company with about 80 people. Therefore you get to know everyone and become not just coworkers but friends. All departments work well together from management to engineers to test, quality.

Main objective was to get the job done on schedule and accurate.

Operations Support Coordinator (Former Employee), Santa Fe Springs, CA – November 5, 2012
One of my best jobs (first); atmosphere can be hostile among co-workers, but there is a lot of humor; management, while not the best, is strongly regulated by HR department.

Cons: no benefits, no sick days, no vacation
This has so far been my absolute favorite job. I love the work I do, they people here are great to work with which makes the days go by much easier. I have learned an extraordinary amount of Computer knowledge, how to use tools in an intranet environment. the hardest part of this job is pulling cat 5 to wire up cubicles. most enjoyable is being on the – more... help desk. – less

CNC Machine Operator 2 (Former Employee), Santa Fe Springs, CA – October 18, 2012
Goodrich Aerospace work day was multi tasked. I learned finishing task at hand correctly and moving on to the next, was less troublesome then to pile on with less attention to detail. Management was even keeled and co-workers were key to the companys bottomline. Due to facing all challenges methodically with expirence helps to ease a hard day. The practical – more... sence of accomplishment is my reward. – less
