The EHS Specialist will report to the Corporate SR. EHS Engineer.

EHS Specialist


  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related degree or
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive safety experience in manufacturing.
  • General Security, Risk Management, and Environmental experience desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement safety policies and practices.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Must have analytical reasoning and problem solving capabilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Liquid Chemical Manufacturing experience
  • Familiar with ISO 14001
  • Experience with OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs training to meet state and federal OSHA requirements.
  • Maintains safety and environmental records for state and federal agencies.
  • Conducts safety analyses of new equipment and process changes.
  • Recommends and orders PPE and safety supplies.
  • Assist in managing workers’ compensation claims.
  • Tracks injuries, reviews and make recommendations for safety improvements.
  • Performs safety and ergonomic inspections.
  • Conducts new hire safety orientations.
  • Maintains understanding and knowledge of current federal, state, and company regulations and policies.
  • Informs organization of changes and administer actions to maintain compliance.
  • Performs Job Hazard Analysis, system auditing, and ergonomic task analysis.
  • Assists in implementation of injury reduction efforts.
  • Tracks and reports operational safety and environmental performance.
  • Maintains reporting requirements for environmental calendar.
  • Analyzes new equipment and verify operator safety.
  • Conducts safety training programs for all levels of operation.
  • Assists in the leadership of safety committees.
  • Responds to First Aid requests.
  • Assist organization by participating in special taskforce assignments and special projects.
  • Supports the environmental functions of the business as warranted/assigned.
  • Assists with monthly and quarterly safety functions.
  • Recognizes hazards and assists with corrective action.
  • Systematically tracks safety items such as PPE, inventory, injuries, first aid cases, inspections, etc.
